Bilstein shock question

First Trip to the Dealer - Loosers

Trying to extrapolate (whew, big word) how many miles I'll get is kinda tough. I am running 245/70/19. 5 Mich XDE MS tires, on Rickson 6. 75 rims. They should go about 80K, which for me is pretty good. I only got 35K out of my factory generals. I ran the truck across a scale and I think it gained about 350lbs by adding the Rickson's and the 16ply tires. I didn't realize until I had them on that the tires were 16ply. I just assumed since they came 12 or 16 that I'd be getting the 12's, oops.

Ride is incredibly rough, most likely due to the ridiculous weight of the tires. Would different shocks help me? I'll never go to this exact tire again for two reasons. The ride, and they HOWL like crazy. The tread isn't as aggressive as the sound makes one think. They are AWESOME in snow/ice and nuttin' special in mud.

Mileage, not much of a factor. I went from 61mph at 2000rpm to 66mph, but if anything the mileage dropped slightly, once again possibly from the weight.

Cost for set of 6 Rickson's and 6 Mich's (purchased locally) was right around $3500. Sounds higher that it really was 'cause I needed to spend $1000 on tires the way it was. And I've got a set of rims to sell if I ever get off my ***** and advertise them.

Rims/Tires look great. I've just got basic black with no trim rings or sims. Make a p/u look like a truck. I'll try to put some pics in my gallery if I haven't already.

I gotta get a digital camera so you guys can see my wheels. It always get people to make a funny face when they start to count lug nuts . . . . . . :D Love my 19. 5s, love them love them love them! Ride is slightly worse than stock, but a set of Rancho RS9000X shocks took care of that. Also, a litle trick, you don't have to run your tires ANYWHERE NEAR the rated psi. Mine say 120 on the sidewall and I think I have 45 in the rears and 50 in the front. Wearing nice and flat, no cupping or odd ball stuff, and manwhat a difference!! Ride quality doubled from 75 psi to 45 in rears! Unreal. Milage is a little tricky because of how big my tires are (34. 5") and me and the Dodge dealer are having trouble getting the computer to play nicely with these things. By the way, setting the revolutions per mile in the computer DOES NOT WORK! Very frustrating. Tried it, wound up being twice as far out in the other direction. My only complaint, wet traction with this tire (toyo) is under par, but I want to talk to someone to see if having them siped at the shop would help. Sorry for the long post, hope this helps.

A Men brother I have a 97 and only got 40,000 out of a set of tires and I rotate every 5000 miles the 19. 5 is the way to go ALUM Wheels!!! Sell the kid.

I guess I can't really complain as I had 2 good tires of 6 after 1 flat and 46K hard miles of towing 13K and hauling pigs and pig feed and hotrodding around and, well you get the picture. But, after 15K, these 19. 5 look like they were put on yesterday. Wear like iron!

I'm approaching 90k on my michelins as we speak. I like the look of the 19. 5's, but I want a more aggressive tread. Any thoughts? But then again, if I continue to stretch 90k out of 17inchers, I'll keep buying them.
