Its time for some brake work and I've been wondering about the EGR stuff. I find it kinda odd that they don't have a website and if you call to request info they refer you to Earthroamer's site. Glen is real nice and will answer any questions, just no real technical stuff available to study. I'm thinking about a utility bed (toolbox type) and bigger tires in the near future and that weight may need some extra help when it comes time to stop. Anyway, what I'm after:

1. What did you buy? Pads, rotors, cylinders, complete kit?

2. Was it worth the money?

3. Would you do it again?

I never complain about my stock brakes, they've lasted a long time just as they are and I didn't expect the truck to stop like a Porsche when I bought it. Just after some first hand info. Thanks.

Got the utility bed.........

And a lot of weight to go with it. 11K lbs. as a daily driver. Stock brakes lasted 20K miles. Rotors were severely heat cracked. Put on EGR's cross drilled rotors, pads and shoes for the back.

Stopping is way better than stock. I feel confident now that I can actually control the Beast. Wether it's controlling the heat any better, I'll find out on my next rotation. Only downfall is that they squeak. Although they seem to squeak less now that they're breaking in.

I couldn't afford the slotted or cross drilled rotors this time around, so I don't know what perofrmance or lack of performance I'm missing. I did the the front pads and rear drums/shoes. I also installed the spring kit and and adjusters. It does stop better than stock, mine doesn't squeak though:rolleyes: . It was certainly not cheap though, I might consider Sam's pads first, alot of guys are running that setup. I will say it stops in less distance than stock, which is what I was after. I've only had them on for a couple of weeks, longevity will be the test of value. If they last as long as they are supposed to and you get the increased stopping power, that makes it worth it in my opinion.
