I heard that the rubber cover traps too much heat and Ram went back to the earlier plastic cover. You should get the recall done.

When I bought my truck but before I took delivery, I called Chryslers recall hotline to inquire if mine was a part of the recall. They gave me dates and I believe the cutoff date was March 14 D. O. M. back to sometime in January for the recall. It used a flexible foam cover that would spontaneously ignite when it got too hot. My truck was assembled on March 16th. I've got the new style.
From what I read, a couple of test trucks actually caught fire due to the foam/heat.

Only one of the new 13's on display at the TDR rally had the foam engine cover guessin they caught the problem early in the production run. Also found it strange that half of the trucks had a plastic "T" in the cooling system and the other half had a welded aluminum "T" wonder if the plastic "T" will be the next re-call... .

I have not seen any of the aluminum. Maybe they were pre-production???

I am thinking so, the rubber hoses were not cut square as they should have been from a vendor on the trucks with the metal "T" and had regular worm drive hose clamps. This would apply to the display chassis and demo trucks that Ram hauled in.

All the trucks brought in from the Bob Poynter dealership in Columbus had the plastic version "T" with a non-removable plastic band at all three points to secure the hoses. Looked to me like all three rubber hoses and the plastic "T" would be sold as an assembly with only one part number.

The plastic in the middle of the upper hose has been used on earlier model durangos and Dakotas. The aftermarket never came up with a fix so those hoses are dealer only item if the plastic fails
