I ran across this today. Thought someone might be interested. It is a '99 24 valve with 107K. $2500.

Yup. Thought with the fueling and use that 750k would be about it. I'm not sure it will make it that far, but I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Heading for Alaska with the 5er in tow on the 22nd. Ever done an engine swap on one of these? My garage can't handle it. I'm thinking about a G56 conversion at the same time.

I'll pass on the swap. Getting too old for the heavy work. Have a safe voyage to the cold country. I'm also leaving on the 22nd, but only going to Ruidoso for a few weeks. I've had all of this 105+ weather I can stand for a while.

Hey do you know if anyone has done a NV4500 to a G56 conversion yet? I was just thinking about this the other night. I love the G56 in my 08, it is a smooth transmission and the 6 gears are spaced just right. Behind a 12 valve it would be a wild combination.

ewcmr2 has one in his 97. He sent me this picture of the modded crossmember.

That's cool, very cool. I wonder what would be involved to bolt the NV241 to it for the 4x4 trucks. I have no worries about the NV241, I think they're a decent unit, but its the cast aluminum tailshaft housing on the NV4500 that I don't like, and the 6 gears would be a perfect match for the 2500/3500 size truck.

Burnin oil has a 4X4 G56 conversion. It took awhile to find the old post.
