Purchased Sirius for the new truck today. Had the guys at Best Buy do the install (after I interviewed them and was confident in their competence). They did a great job. I bought a Kenwood KCA-R70FM; that's the FM modulated. So I could keep the stock stereo and controls. The Kenwood controller tucks right into the long pocket where the 4wd shift lever would be; very clean.

It was a tough choice; XM or Sirius. Went with Sirius because they had the right combination of units and pricing for what I wanted; and I totally hate commercials (Sirius is still completely commercial free and claiming they'll stay that way). I don't think either one would go out of business; if anything one would buy the other and it doesn't do either any good to allienate a customer base by pulling the plug. Sirius just signed several big deals to be the Satellite Radio sponsored by the mfg; Panasonic is one. So I don't think they're going away soon.

I also have a 4 yr replacement warranty and I'm speculating that if Sirius went out of business I have a pretty good warranty claim on a unit that ceases to work! It would be an interesting debate.

My deck is XM ready so one of these days I am going to install the module and antenna. Drives me nuts when I am listening to the radio and they have 10 minutes of commercials for every 20 minutes of music. Only a matter of time till I have it. :)

once you get hooked on xm (sirrus) you wont go back. clear continuous digital radio. under some over passes you lose a signal and on the valley floor of Yosemite only lost signal 2-3 times
