Satellite Service Provider ?

What kind of service are you looking for? Satellite TV, internet, XM or Sirius Radio? If it's Sat TV, my vote is for DirecTV. Sat Radio is a toss-up, but I have Sirius.

What I do, is have an extra DTV box always plugged in my home and then take it with me, it will only cost you $5. 00 more per mo. than you pay for your regular home service, you even get all the NFL games if you have "The ticket" in your RV, the dish can be set up in minutes.

Monopolies are the problem , used to be a bunch of sat companies , Starband used to be the chose for internet , not sure if they got bought out yet , so the only options that are common now is DirectTV , a little more money & channels , then Dish .
Almost any other continent has better tech service than us [ phone , internet , satellite ect. ] .

I have had both DirecTV and DISH satellite service. Dish satellite service is a joke... constant problems, picture quality, interrupted signals, very poor sound quality. The only thing that was timely was the bill. Now have DirecTV with minimal problems and good customer service. Also have Hughes. Net dish for internet connection... the service is excellent. My 2 cents worth.

If you look close that's a dealer "DIRECT SAT TV", a authorized DIRECTV dealer... ...

If you read the fine print (plenty of that), it says directv has a feature which restricts access in certain markets... .

I have talked to lots of campers who have had trouble with both providers... . my own exp. has been I'm OK with the home receiver for short periods of time 3 to5 days, however a week or more they start to mess with me especially if I get out of my home footprint.

I have heard that both of them have DEALS if you tell them your a fulltime RVer...

Maybe some fulltimers on here have more info... .....

If you are a fulltimer and request a waiver, (you can download) you can receive both east coast and west coast service, you must send in the waiver request with the VIN number of your RV.

Dishnet here for the past 8 years with zero picture, sound or customer service problems. I have had great service whenever I had a problem. Being a fultime rv'er I have taken my dish on every trip with no trouble even to Oregon. Usually takes about 10 minutes or less to realign the dish once I get to where I am going.

I have been to Oklahoma twice this year and had no difference in service or channels. I am not up to date on the waiver concerning the distant chanels, need to check on that.

Had DirectTV for afew years and then went to Dishnet. After the contract was over went back to Dtv. Just compare the progaming available on each one. It's all about what you prefer. Just use my second receiver with a dish on a tripod for the camper.



Earlier this year DirectTV offered their customers a system called SatGo. It's a 17 inch lcd tv, receiver, and antenna in a suit case. Kind of pricey but went ahead and bought one. Love it for the limited space of a cabover.

I've been using Dish for years. I take a receiver and antenna with a tripod everywhere I go. Never had a problem. I also use mine for 4 months in the winter when we travel south. I haven't looked at Direct TV offers for a long time. I originally went with Dish because Direct didn't offer good choices for me. They're both fine these days.
