The water separator is under vacumn not pressure, hence running the engine with an open water separator is the same as running the tank dry of fuel. The AirDog will bleed itself after you close the drain and bump the starter but now there is air forward of the AirDog that must be removed. You will have to loosen two or three injector lines and crank the engine until the air is bled. Then retighten the injector lines and idle the engine until it runs smoothly. Larry
