The Scheid event was a great time, lots of phrds and loadeds of butt kicking Dodges. The Dodges won all the pulling events, no one broke anything to badly atlest. Got to meet some good folks, Mark Kitchell, Pieres of BD, Katdiesel showed up also, and all the good folks and there families from the GLTDR. Lot of Dyno runs both days, did not get to run on the drag strip due rain sunday mourning. The weather for saturday was overcast but with no rain, it was great.

Also, Dave wasnt there. Alot of the pullers had clutch slippage. Also there was 3 chevys in the croud. I guess around 75 ferds, and 150 Rams. I am guessing on all of those numbers except the chevies.

We're all just getting home! I'll post more later because I'm EXHAUSTED. Mostly the Ford's got spanked (except for the guy who spent $30,000 upgrading his engine to get 388/1080), only 3 Chevy's showed up. I installed 275hp injectors saturday night and a number of the GLTDR guys ran on the dyno. Eric Pitts hit 247/657 with DDI's, a boost elbow, and map sensor fooler; I hit 313/763 with my original powermax and 275 injectors; Terry Tucker hit 334/869 with 275's and a powermax2; and Carl hit 384/1036 with DDI's, a PE with the hot #3, and a VA box. Those are all rear wheel numbers on a Mustang dyno (a real brake dyno)! LOTSA power in the GLTDR!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO All of our dyno sheets will be on the GLTDR site by the end of the week!

<font color=blue>Just got home myself... .

I'll think of something to say in response tommorrow #ad

Lets not forget John P. Had 381 hp 1069 lb-ft torque? (96 or 97 12v).

Needless to say it was well worth the 10 hour drive just to sit at the fire with y'all. We stayed out there until 2am (it started raining) and we had the fire going pretty good.

<font color=blue>For a while there when we first got there between Eric's and Tom's trucks yes I was very much speechless. I was even more speechless when Eric took me for a spin... ... Needless to say "stacks" just got a lil higher on my priority list #ad

And yes Doc I was very surprised at how friendly and how well I was made to "feel at home" with y'all. I am very impressed with your "group", keep up the good work. Its really amazing to see such variety in ages and personailties getting along and having fun. It truely was an awesome weekend..... sooo when's the next event for y'all? ?? #ad
I hope to make a couple of y'alls events if I can , but work gets in the way sometime... . guess I'll have to talk to them about that #ad

Seriously thank you to all you guys I met and talked with.

Had a great time, thanks Schied's for putting on the event! But now i really feel sorry for the FERD boys, those things are whimps FOR SURE. The only ferd that did any good in the truck pulls was a trailer queen(brought in on a flatbed)while the Dodges drove in and out on their own. My spike 404 hp (384 sustained) and 1036 fpt was not bad for a truck that goes to the grocery store and pulls a 13k 5er. HEHEHE

OK. That's IT. I'M BUMMED. Next year the campfire gets lit at 7PM (or sooner) It's official (pending GLTDR approval, it was mostly their group!) one year in advance. Let Scheid know because we're already scheduling events. I'M NOT MISSING THE NEXT CAMPFIRE!

Couldn't enter the sled pull, couldn't dyno because exhaust manifold was cracked, missed the campfire. Good thing there was lot's of great trucks and better drivers or it would'of been a loss.

Got home a few hrs ago. Still calming the nerves. Will update everyone tomorrow evening. The Scheid folks are a-1 big time. They had troops running all over town Sunday noon-ish trying to get bolts, gaskets, ... , for my new exhaust manifold. Cracked the darn thing. Good thing I (they) replaced it before leaving -- it was nearly in two. I started yanking it apart then one of Scheid's enegetic young troops took over and wrapped up the job -- finished the tear down then put it together. Probably had four people on it -- a driver getting parts, mechanic, another driver to another store, another mechanic, ... should have written down their names. And all that after they undoubtedly spent massive hours hosting that whole event -- they had to be exhausted. Then they have this persistent #&$^* trying to get his truck repaired on a Sunday! God bless 'em -- angels I say.

With all the help from Scheid, offers from GLTDR gang, wwcd2, Kat, Doug, ... , probably could have built an entire truck from scratch that afternoon! We are a fine group aren't we?!

Later,
MAK

ps: I've been speculating on why the exhaust manifold cracked and I guess I'm clueless. At this point I'm inclined to think weak mold rather then blame any one thing. Exhaust blanket? High temps from bombing?no, I watch my EGTs) ... the only thing that kind of makes sense if ice a snow hitting it while hot and plowing. Was re-torquing the bolts this evening and it's a wide open shot from under the truck to the bottom of that manifold. They need a heat shield under there!

Glad to hear you made it home Mark. We all felt really bad for you on Sunday. It was greating putting a face behind your name!
