PS BBD, I know your truck can run better than what it did. But you did get beat (I thinks its time to get rid of those airbags!)

If you would have looked under my rig you would have seen that the air bags weren't in equation haven't been all year. I am solid in the rear when I pull.

Your correct, I broke, and got beat if that is what you want to call it then that's up to you. Out here we are a little more realistic and wouldn't brag untill both trucks have good hooks with out breaking.

Were was your truck ?

BBD,

Mine was sitting in my driveway here in Columbus, Indiana.

I flew out for the event as you already know.

Your right BBD, I'll keep waiting for your truck to get a good hook before I compare it to anything. :-laf

Did anyone notice that jwilliams3 posted a picture of a MAXX cab hooked to the sled? I havnt even seen one in real life. Have they hit the ground??

I didnt post the picture.

But yes, they did hook a "stock" MegaCab with 42 miles on the clock to the sled.

I guess they are hitting the shelves as we speak.

On a little different topic now:

Thanks to all that put this event together and got some nice trucks to come out of the woodwork! GOODJOB!

Why did you edit out the "BBD=Bounce Bad Dodge" I thought it was cute :-laf

I was getting a little carried away! :-laf

Scott, I dont know if you have seen any videos of your runs. It looked like you had an angle grinder going under your bellhousing.

Side note about the trip out west:

The wife and I were coming through security Sunday night at LAX and out of the corner of my eye I spot Terry "HULK" Hogan and his son Nick getting the express lane through the security checkpoint.

I guess it is true, go to LA-you might spot a celebrity! :)

No problem, I am a big boy I can handle it :G

There was guy working security at the event that looked like the Hulk as well, my wife commented it, how funny.

Haven't seen any video as of yet, are there some loaded on the net somewere ?

I had a loud clunking noise coming from the front that last time I drove off the track scared the crap out of me, so I investigated last night and found a huge hole in my air line to the front locker so I am asuming it was the locker not fully engauging as now the noise is gone. The motor sounds fine and SPA gauge shows that I only had 63psi of boost.

I got some good video of both your runs, need to get them posted. On your second run there were quite a lot of sparks coming from the bottom of the truck as you started to get rolling. Sparks off your clutch? Didn't hear any clunking noise like you mentioned just disappointed it didn't hold together. On your first run you would have easily got to a full pull IMHO as from my video you had great momentum, I guess it just shut down or something at the 250' mark. I kept yelling towards the announcer that the sled did not hit you as he constantly insisted it did. That announcer was a complete moron anyway, he needs to attend a few more truck pulls before his next job as an announcer.

BTW, thanks to Craig and everyone else who helped put this event together. Definatley a bigger turn out than last year as well as entertainment. I was really impressed with the ATS and Scheid dragsters, very cool! :D Oo.

You and me both Joe, I went through the whole truck with a fine tooth comb for two weeks before this pull :(

I think I am chalking it up to a bad shut off seliond, with the compression and advanced timing I have to really crank for exstended intervals and I think is going to make the selinoid short lived, I will be converting to a pull cable this winter as part of my winter mods.

I think your right on the full pull comment she was rolling pretty good :D

I wish there was way to monitor my hart rate when going down the track with a full head of steam and the motor quits. It can't be good at my age :-laf

BBD

Yeah, you looked pretty bummed as you drove by after the first pull. I can't believe that the problem was narrowed down to a shutoff solenoid, I too have been thinking about a pull cable, got the parts just no time for custom installation. :{

If I wasn't so flustered and ****** after that first run, I would have thought about then zipped tied the damn thing up befre getting in the Exhibition class.

I haven't done research yet on the parts, were did yo get your stuff ? I think there have been threads here about it as well.

BBD

That place Larry B's sells new solenoids, relays and such. I got my replacement boot and larger starter contacts from there. Much better prices than the dealer. I have over 150K on my original solenoid and still going strong. Maybe if I ever get up into you power range I may start to have issues with it. :-laf

And I hope you do. Not enough duallys (not to mention neat looking ones) are competing or have a lot of power. 'If you've got the money, i've got the time (to watch you compete)'. :-laf Oo.

Scott,

I built my start/stop cable system for $5 and have been using it for almost 5 years now. Works great and doubles as a theft detourant at the same time.

You can crank to the cows come home and she isn't going to start unless you release the cable to the pump.

Too bad you didn't need one sooner as I could have showed you how I have mine hooked up when you were up last time. Give me a call if you want some info on it.

Will do Mark, thanks

BTW Joe, you cant beat the price of the selinoid from Piers, I believe he was the cheapest at $149. 00 while Larry is at $197. 00 almost $50. 00

It only wants to download about 30 secs for me and says it's done. I'll try just opening it, that will probably time out once the computer goes on standby, so i'll try saving it again later.
