Any of you guys using this system with the 4 1/2 hole cut in the cowl. If so how do you like it, and how noisy is it in the cab? Im so torn between which air filter setup to use, any help would be great!

I have the Scotty Air 2 with both holes open. It is a great set up and works super. The noise is alot less than the older Scotty 1 was. I took JGK for a ride up in Boise and he could give you a good comparision to a Mega Cannon A/F set up.

CoooOOOOooOOOooL air is where it at!!!!!!

Im with deezl1, with the hx35, it is loud and annoying after a while. With my B1 (which is a loud turbo to begin with) the scotty2 lasted about a whole week on my truck with the cowl hole in place. I plugged it up. I like turbo whistle as much as the next guy but listening to that bad boy for a 5 hour trip towing the trailer and i was going nuts. sounds like the turbo is mounted inside the dash. just my . o2

It's all down to your personal preference , I guess... ... I don't find the turbo spooling up noise oppressive, even on long trips with my camper... . (12500 pounds and counting) I do like to listen to good music on the road, however, a little on the loud side though..... :D

Remember what is acceptable to you may not be to someone else!

I could certainly hear Drawson's turbo with his Scotty II plumbed into the cowl, but it's not quite as bad as my aFe with NO hole through the cowl. Now you might be asking, how can that be? The difference is my HX40 doesn't have the silencer ring. It's a slightly different design that most. It really whistles and I find it annoying. I'm thinking of ordering a comperessor housing from Piers that has the silencer ring. Then I can give you a better comparison.

Another Rammer down the road from me just got a II for Christmas and has it in with a hole in the cowl. He runs a stock HX35. I'll go for a ride in his and check it out.
