I had my SCR recall done this week. I haven't really noticed any change in performance but I haven't driven it a lot yet. The other thing I wanted to ask was the "spark knock" sound issue. When I dropped it off at the dealer I explained to the service writer in great detail what was that i heard. When I got the first call the mechanic tried to blame it on the tail pipe hitting the coil spring at the rear of the truck!
Needless to say I was a little twisted that this was the reason he gave for the sound! I will be the very first to admit I am NOT a mechanic but i have worked on a few vehicle in my life and I can tell where and what the sound is. so I took him for a test drive to let him hear it for himself. I go to pick it up and he says he has no idea what the sound is for sure and didn't think it was the turbo. I told him about this web site and all he had to do was a google search and a ton of info would come up. Well he said he called RAM service techs for help and to make an appointment in three weeks and would see what he could do?
I honestly think this is a crock of crap! The sound seems to be getting worse. Again I am no mechanic but it seems like he is either incompetent or is trying to dodge ( no pun intended) the issue! Thoughts?
thanks Tim
