Pressure washer question

Can you hear me now???

Seems Sears has decided to pay all their Reserve and Guard employees who are deployed, the difference between their military pay, and their regular Sears pay. While deployed, these employees will be recieving full pay, as if still at the Sears where they normally work, minus the military income.

THAT, ladies and gents, is a company which deserves our support and our business ! Wonder who else will belly up and show some American attitude ?

Ol ron:) :)

I think that is outstanding. In a age where it is easier to layoff or fire,it is nice to see a company that stands behind and compliments their employees in such a way.

The company I work for did the same thing - only they made it retroactive back to September 11, 2001!

Tyson Foods Unveils Plan to Ensure Differential Pay for Active Duty Team Members

Springdale, Arkansas - Tuesday, October 22, 2002 - Tyson Foods, Inc. [NYSE:TSN] today announced that it would provide differential pay for all team members called to active National Guard or military Reserve duty since September 11, 2001. The company will make up the difference between compensation for the military duty and the normal salary or wages of the team member before being called into duty.

The move was announced today in conjunction with the signing by Tyson Chairman and CEO John Tyson of a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, which recognizes those branches of the military as essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities.

“We’re proud and grateful to have Tyson team members ready to make incredible sacrifices to serve our country,” stated Tyson. “We believe they should not have to worry about their financial well-being while they’re spending time away from their homes and families. ”

"We are extremely pleased to see this kind of generosity and patriotic support coming from an employer as large as Tyson Foods, Inc. ," said Maj. Gen. Don C. Morrow, adjutant general of the Arkansas National Guard. "While our service members are doing their part to serve our country, it will be reassuring for them and their families to know that both their country and their employer are behind them 100 percent. ”

The Tyson Foods human resources department has begun work to identify team members who have been on military leave since 9/11, and work closely with Tyson’s nearly 300 locations nationwide to effectively implement the new policy throughout the company.

Nice to see a big company looking at more than just the bottom line. I will put Sears as my first stop for shopping. ;) BIG thumbs up

Thanks ol ron for bringing this to our attention. I am in the market for a Sawzall and I know where I'll be getting it.

Sure hated to do it:rolleyes: But just had to buy a Sears cordless drill/circular saw combo!

Well, they don't have much for a CTD. , so guess the drill /saw will have to do for now.

The only way for those who serve to be paid..

I drive truck for Overnite Transportation which is a LTL freight carrier home based out of Richmond,VA. Since Desert Storm they have also been making up the complete difference between what the government pays and what those who work for us and are on active tours of duty make. Its one thing they can and do to make the families get thru the tough time without their loved ones and make it one less thing they have to worry about.

Its a disgrace to those who are serving to protect what we have here if a company will not make up the difference in their pays and allow the family some little found piece of mind till their loved ones return home... ... ... . Andy
