Last night after I got home, I changed the oil on my '04 2500 4x4 that has a 5 spd. manual transmission. While waiting for the oil to finish draining, I decided to take a look around with the flashlight. I noticed that on both sides of the transmission where there is a semi-rectangular steel plate held in place with a series of bolts that it appears that some transmission fluid has seeped out. The truck only has 12,400 on it, so is this considered normal, or should I have the dealer look at it? By seeping out, I mean that it appears that the exterior of the transmission on both sides has been stained by the fluid.
Thanks in advance,
Bryan
