Self Destructed

No, it didn't happen to me thank god, I was just woundering if anyone has, or ever heard oh one of thses engines self distructing, or being blowen up? I know things have limits, but I do believe these are indestructable.

JNutter's grenaded on him, but I do not recall why. DC didn't warranty it because he had some sort of mods on it. Look in archives under his postings and you'll find it.

A long time ago, on the old site, someone had an injector tip break/burn off and grenade their top end... ..... something to do with a fueling box maybe? Can't recall who it was. Seems like it was someone in Oregon.

I know of 6 which have blown up when using propane. Costs about 10 grand for the fix.

Dave B, I recall the injector tip story form CDW. If I remember right it was a 12-valve with almost 200,000 miles that was rather BOMBed and towed a lot. Pretty much zero wear when the head was removed.

The truck pictured below still has its original engine, even with the scores of hard pulls it has been put through over the last 3 years or so. Dave Mitchell has not blown anything on the engine internally, but many turbos have been the victim of his mightily overfueled, overboosted Cummins Turbo Diesel! #ad

If I remember right, Smokin Dave's Wife's truck blew.
Something about the pump run on and kept fueling till it blew. I think it had minor damage, all things considered.
Anybody got details?

well the engine may be indestructible, but i can tell you first hand that things behind it aren't #ad
i have joined the ranks of the broken trans parts crowd . 4wd and burnouts can and will break s#!+ .
