Just some pics of the truck coming back together

What a night - would appreciate prayers

I am selling off my 96' Ram. It is in the classifieds here and elswhere on the web. If it were a 4x4, it would be LONG gone by now.

My question is this, the truck is BOMBed pretty well, and I know I will not see all of that money invested. My problem has been that locally at least, very few people are aware of what DTT and Banks even are, lete alone what they are worth. I hate to remove the BOMBed components and lower my price, but would that be a better way to go? It seems it would be easier to part it out to recoup some of the investment and sell the truck near stock... ... .

Any thoughts???

I've thought about the same thing myself. The way I see it is that very few people are going to pay extra for the BOMBs, so remove them and keep the price as-is (assuming that the price is fair for the truck to begin with). Most potential buyers are looking for a 'truck' nothing more. They don't know, understand or care what the BOMBs are or are worth. Sell the BOMBs by themselves to people that will understand and appreciate them.

BOMBing

Hey Kev - The bombs on my 99 helped sell it at blue book so the new owner considered them free.

Don't flame me but IMHO most used pickups are over-priced and it's hard to determine if a previous owner used or abused the added power that bombs can provide.

I personally would never buy a bombed truck, it has the potential of being more abused than a stocker. Take your mods off and sell them elsewhere or don't even mention them.

Good Points- Especially about the abuse. In my case, I know that is not at all the case, and is why I chose the Banks equipment. "mildly" bombed. But then again, a buyer wouldn't know that and probably presume the worst.

I'm going to wait and see what happens a bit longer. And then I guess its time to fill the classifieds with some of the mods. I wish it were easier to return some of the parts to stock especially the transmission. I'd be much further ahead of the game.

To the right person, a bombed truck could be well worth it and then some. It's solely a matter of finding that person.

Heck if I had a 4x4, it would have been sold ten time by now.

Kev,

Have you tried advertising in the Tow Vehicle section of Highways or maybe Trailer Life or some of the other RVing magazines? Banks is a known quantity in the RVing community, and the 4x2 configuration shouldn't be as critical to the on-road towing community.

Just a thought...

I'd have to go along with illflem. If I were buying a used truck, I would want the one that was only driven to church on Sunday by a little old lady. :D

Depends on the bombs and how well they work together with the rest of the truck. Advertise nationwide on the internet traders, you will get interest. I paid plenty for a truck with stock engine but Gear Vendors and Pac brake installed. I added half of the cost of the mods to the retail book and was still happy. Of course the truck was pretty much flawless, 6 new tires, batteries and brakes by DC. If your set up for towing, I would sell to the tow crowd. Set up for street racing, I would probably remove them. Seems like you can get about 50% of cost for used on E-Bay for bombs.
