10 days ago I received a Preform Service error. I have a code reader and its P0304 and P2509 error. Im about 4500 miles from my service guy but I have the option to get it to a dealer in about 500 miles or my next chance would be 2000 miles away when i would have time to park it.
The truck is fully loaded and running fine. What do you think?Get to a dealer and get it checked out or drive it.
I thought about reseting the codes to see if they came back. Decisions decisions. Thanks

The Perform Service message and the two diagnostic codes you have are not related....they’re two separate issues.

I dont know what generation your truck is, but it can be P2509 ECM/PCM input power intermittent. P0304 is #4 cylinder missfire.

The truck is a 2015 3500 CTD with about 66000 miles. I checked this afternoon and the P0304 code was gone. The truck has a large truck camper on it and maybe the electrical issue may be camper related.

The batteries are OEM and with the camper they don’t get charged as much as they should. Im going to get everything charged good then try to clear that code and see if it comes right back. After that battery testing would be a good start.
Heading across Nevada today we will see what happens over the next few days.

The perform service message with 66000 miles on the truck is for the PCV Filter replacement. If you do a search in this forum you should be able to find directions for resetting the message using the correct sequence of ignition switch, brake pedal, and throttle.

Thank You EHoxie seems I had three problems, two down one to go. The p2509 came right back after reset. Battery test time.
