Drag

I put synthetic in my frontend about a month ago and am noticing a slight increase in fuel economy with the just oil so there IS some drag there. I don't know if it will be worth it though. but I still want them!

So the front doesn't have synthetic from the factory?

Didn't know that, thanks for the info.

It came from the factory with synthetic in f & r diffs.

That is really cool. I also would be interested "if" the price was reasonable. Some of these after market gadget's are "pricey". ;)

Update:

Dynatrac is still waiting on the foundry to supply the components for their Super Duty Kit. They would not commit to when that may happen. Ours will come next, and if it is in fact just a matter of different machining, then I would expect the timing will be a function of demand for the different brands. My guess only. I will be checking back w/ them end of July. He has promised to call me if there is a development, and I think he will.

Update.

Surprise! Well, believe it or not there is some movement in the project! Dynatrac has now requested we schedule (end of month) a visit w/ one of our truck owners for some measurments/observations. They think their Super Duty kit (now in production) will share parts & that they will just have to do some different machining. Maybe this will come together after all...

i would be in if the price was right. now lets everyone remember that the stage III upgrade for the older d60's from dynatrac would run you about $3200. it was beefy, but cost some money as well.

Edit: if you wheel a lot then it would be worth it considering one hub assembly from the dealer (only place available that i know of right now) will run you in the $400 range. replace a few of those and you bought the stage I kit.

Chrysler's bean counters have really screwed us out of excellent truck. A 4wd front end lacking factory hubs is a big failure in my opinion .

My guess is that most new $30-40 k 4wd trucks spend 90% of their time on pavement and to have all those front end components turning/wearing needlessly is senseless.

Chrysler had the oppurtunity to visit that issue with the change of axle vendors but choose not.

My 1975 4wd 1/2 ton Chevy has all stock components and the

front gears are still like new .

Someday they will see the light.

Check me if I'm wrong, but won't this new setup require a new passenger side axle shaft(its two-piece design warrants this)? If I remember correctly, I looked for a manual hub setup for my 02 and it was very pricey due to a new axle shaft, spindles, etc... I hope I'm wrong, because I would also like to see this happen.

Update !!!!!!!!!!!!

We now have a truck scheduled to go in for fitting on the 12th of this month. The indication is that they will be able to machine the components they are using for their Super Duty kits. This deal may come together yet! As I warned everyone at the begining it has been and will probably still be a long process, but I am optimistic that this will happen.

RandyN

Is the Super Duty kit being sold yet? If so, what is it going for? I'm interested, too, but want to know the price. I'm one that doesn't just buy something. I usually want to know the price, and then depending on how much it is determines how much time I let it ferment before purchasing :D

Update.

To Everyone,

Please monitor this thread (subject/topic). There is a way to get an email notice regarding this subject as new posts are made. Maybe someone better informed than I can post some instructions as to how that is done. I do not have a way to keep track of everyone that's interested, at least not yet. When we get farther along, I will probably make a detailed list.

I like this too. I have subscribed. By the time my truck is out of warranty and maybe needing these parts anyway, it will seem like a "must do" job.
