CB Interfering with Brake Controller?

New 4:10 (complete)rear end, 5300 miles, 300 mile shakedown run with new 5er, 11-12 MPG, manually shifted between 3rd and OD got lock-up each time. Ram purred at 2000-2100RPM in OD. All your suggestions and responses to my past questions were extremely beneficial.
Traffic and weather (rain) kept me below 2k RPM so I ended up in 3rd more on the return trip. I did notice a hint of "shutter" in 1st starting on a steep grade just a couple of times. Is that normal? I also noticed I lost momentum climbing a grade in OD under 2K RPM, Is that normal? Near the end of the hilly area of the run I locked out OD and ran the RPM to 2500 and had good acceleration up to 60. I understand all vehicles moving a great deal of weight will slow on grades, but I hear so many of you talking about taking hills at 75 MPH, and passing everyone in sight... specially Ferds
and Chebbies! Is there something else I should be doing?
I was really happy with the "test run" and the Cummins performed admirably. I welcome any more driving hints many of you may have regarding towing with a stock Ram and AT. Lastly, I manage to get the 5er where I need to get it but sometimes it ain't pretty... still gotta master that backing up! #ad

Sounds like everything is working right to me. Changing to the 4:10's and holding 60 mph at 2500 rpm is right on time...
You are just about out of horse power around 2700 rpm being stock, so I think your truck performed rather well.....
That 5'ver has got to be putting you at gross or prtty close so the shudder at take-off is to be expected. A transgo shift kit would probably fix your transmission up just fine if its put in right. John_P had that kit put in his and he made it to a little over 90,000 miles pulling hard with a big motor...
One other thing, don't be concerned about that Cummins sitting at 25 or 26 hundred rpm, it can do that forever... . Pete

JEEZE - 34' and 2 slides has GOTTA be heavy!

You didn't specify the length and percentage of grade, but if either was significant, 60 mph in third is just fine - and like Pete sez, you can run the Cummins up against the governor 24 hrs a day with NO problems if necessary - they do it with bachhoes and similar construction equipment regularly...

Pete and Gary,
Thanks for the info. Sorry I have no idea regarding the grade %, actually they weren't too bad, more like big hills, (eastern Mass. )
The 5er GVWR is 12,600 but I doubt I'm maxed.
I plan to weight it (and the Ram) this summer. Guys, after towing an 8K 5er with a 2500 5. 9L(gas),3. 55 Ram I'm loving all this power... even if it does slow down on grades!
We plan on RVing more this summer so I'm sure we'll find some bigger challenges as we leave MA! Thanks again!
Dave
