Shift handle

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Finally, no more battery overcharging!

2003 2500 diesel, red alarm light flashing, engine won't turn over

I remember reading somewhere on the forum, can't find it. But what will cause the shift handle to get stuck in park? hard to get it into reverse/drive. Other times works normal.

Thanks

Not sure about the auto trucks as I had a manual, but on my Bronco there is a lock out that requires the brake pedal be depressed to get it to allow a shift from park, could be something in that elec circuit or a faulty switch / solenoid?

Ok i will look into that.

Also, on an incline without setting parking brake sufficiently causing the park pawl to bind.
From the Owner's Manual:
When parking on a hill, it is important to turn the front wheels toward the curb on a downhill grade and away from the curb on an uphill grade. Apply the parking brake before placing the gear selector in PARK, otherwise the load on the transmission locking mechanism may make it difficult to move the gear selector out of PARK. The parking brake should always be applied whenever the driver is not in the vehicle.
