Winter get together and farewell for Uncle Mike

Colorado Springs TDR members....

Once again our friends with the NCPSD club have invited us to a Dyno Day in Fort Collins. The deal hinges on how many people we can get to show up.

The tentative date is January 31st.

I am still waiting on the answer to a couple of questions.

  • 1. How much per vehicle

    2. How many runs for that price

    3. How much more for additional runs if #2 is only 1 run

They (PSD Club) need to pay a base fee to cover the shop for the day, and they want to make sure they have enough interested parties before they get going on this.

I will make sure that this WILL NOT be a Ford first, Dodge last, like last time.

So, who's interested?

I might stop by, there is supposed to be a powerstroke that put down 520 in the last week or two. I won't be running at this time though.

Matt

Hey, Sticks I would like to go but can not make that date. Having some surgery next Friday and will not be out until Saturday morning sometime.

Go for it Nick! The dyno hardly puts a load on the truck. Id be more worried about fuel pressure for that deal than I would your clutch. IMHO

OK, I did this once, but I have no idea where it went.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 31ST 10AM TO 5PM

PFI

5720 South Bueno Drive

Ft. Collins

The cost will be $30 per truck. This price would be for 1 hook up, consisting of 3-4 pulls per hook up (PFI will work with you on the number of pulls if necessary).

I think that since this is a last minute dyno day, we will have to include as many trucks as possible to meet the all day fee the club has to pay (and I already paid half down). I know we have really been wanting to have a PSD only dyno day and I promise that one of these days we will, but I don't think that we would get enough PSDs to run on the dyno this quickly to meet the fee. So, this is a come-one, come-all day.

Also, PFI is supposed to be getting a new magnet in next week that will help the torque reading problem on our truck runs. But, just in case, Alan is bringing some other options for hooking up for torque readings too.

RULES:

1. This is a first come, first serve dyno day. PSDs, CTDs and Dmaxs all treated equally. When you get there, you will register with me (fill out paperwork and pay (cash or check please)) and then put your truck in the line (remember, PFI is a drive thru dyno - much easier on me!). If you don't get in line, you don't have a spot!

2. Once you are on the dyno, you can not change out parts while still hooked up. If you have a chip that can change programs at the flip of a switch or can be changed very quickly (a couple of minutes), then you can stay hooked up and do multiple runs on one hook up. If you have to switch out components, please unhook off the dyno, pull out of the line, go change out whatever and then get back in line. This way, everyone gets to run their truck and nobody is left standing around waiting all day.

3. Duallys will not be required to take off their outer tires.

4. Members who would like to hang out and help out with getting trucks on and off the dyno, you are more than welcome. In fact, that will help the day go much faster. So wear your work clothes if you plan on spending some time in the garage. PFI is a very hands on dyno for all.

5. The dynoing will start at 10am and run until 5pm. Be in line by 5pm and you will get your run in.

6. If we happen to exceed the fee the club has to pay for the dyno day itself, the extra money will go towards club expenses (banners, website, screen fees for shirts/decals, etc). If anyone would ever like to review the club receipts, please let me know. I am in the process of organizing all club finances for everyone to be able to look at anytime. Remember, we have no membership dues and we plan on keeping it that way. The club will be recouping money spent from this and other events. The club belongs to all of us!

7. If the weather turns bad, we will reschedule, not cancel, the day. Keep checking the website for details if it looks bad out.

If anyone has any questions or something they would like to see added to the rules, please let me know. I want to make this day run as smoothly as possible!

See you all there!

Shay

OK, lets go for three times that we outnumber them in attendance and performance. This will be the best of both the prior events. First come first run, $30 to get multiple runs, and members get to help get the rigs in and out of the bays.

Mike L. - I hope this surgery thing is not serious. Gimme your keys and I'll run your truck for ya!:D I promise to keep the mileage under 500 and return it with a full tank of fuel.

My attendance is now in question. Grandpa passed away Thursday afternoon, and I may have to assist with the Estate issues in the Springs that weekend.

Sticks, I'm thinking about that offer. With the climbing prices of fuel and the Stantadyne it might be worth it. We will see. The wife was offering to drive up since I know the dr. won't be allowin in it for me to do.

I may show up depending on my schedule.

It would be interesting to see what it spins the dyno to, knowing that it runs high 13's at Bandimere.

Stake, you and mlockner should show up, it would kill me to see on the northern Colorado PSD clubs site that a lowly PSD was top HP for the day. FYI, there is a PSD that will be there supposedly burning up 520hp. mlockner, get your water methanol kit tuned up yet?

Sticks, i think I would be interested since I think that's way cheap for a dyno time, and FC is really close to Cheyenne.

I also happen to have the Friday off, so maybe I'll have my max-flow installed by then.

My little delivery truck wouldn't stand a chance on the dyno. The track may be a different story tho. ;)

Is that one of them F***s with a CUMMIN's in it??? Ain't seen one yet that scares me from the dyno, up close and personal. I know they are out there but, few and far between. My truck did 530 hp and 1080 torque last time out. Water/Meth is armed and ready and I know it will run a high 13 this year at the track. We will see.

I'm down for the Dyno Day. Can't have no Ford's coming out as top Dog. 520 HP from a Ford... . I'll believe it when I see it:-laf The injection pump on a Ford is really fuel limited, not saying it can't be done but to get to 520 hp one would have to drop some serious coin.

Oh yea!!! The games all over for the PSD's, Richards in town Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Make us proud Richard, all this smack talk from the PSD's about their 520 hp truck is killin me, I wish I could take a trip out there and run with you guys. I would like to run a few stoplights to stoplights with this secret PSD.

Show em what Cummins stands for... ... ... ... ... ... ... POWER!!!

Anyone check with Bob B???? His truck will compete nicely too!!
