On hot days it seems to take forever to cool my little quad cab, and then it isn't really all that cool, just tolerable. I have never done anything with the A/C in the almost 10 years I've had it, so I figured it was just getting low and needed some added. So I looked at a thread here about A/C and it said the low side should between about low 20's to about 40. I looked at a chart online that said between 70-80 degrees outside, it should swing from 16 to 29. It was 75 outside when I checked it and I got about 18 to 38, which is what the chart says it should be when it is 80-90 outside. So my numbers seem pretty close to what they should and if anything, a bit high. So now I'm thinking I may do more harm than good by adding refrigerant. What do you guys think? I'm leaving on vacation tonight or tomorrow with the family and want to be comfortable.
