I am desperate for a good local diesel 24V repair shop (other than the 'deealership'), in the Sacramento, CA. , area. My 'Swift Auto World' dealer wants over $4K to replace my 'High Pressure Injection Pump, (it will only start when cold, when hot, it takes forever to start) because, they say, of the 'mods' I've made; (to make my truck run as it should have from the stinking factory. )
So, my "awesome black hole which I throw money in" presently sits in my driveway while I drive my daughter's '88 Bronco II for work. (It starts every time, BTW)
I've spent a total of $580 in just towing bills alone for this truck and I'm tired of it! (Not to mention the four lift pumps, one starter, and one transmission failure I've paid for out of pocket:
(I know, I'm my own stinking 'warranty station')
But really, is there an independant 'honest' diesel mechanic to be found is the Sacto area?
The last time my truck broke down I had to pay $420 to have it towed three hours to Redding, CA. (to 'J & H Performance Diesel')for a 'DTT' transmission re-build, which was the only repair shop I felt comfortable with, and that was open before a vacation I was going on!
I'd now rather have my truck just sit in my driveway indefinitely since my employer makes my payment anyway!
Sorry for being depressed
