Occasionally, mostly when Im pulling a short hill, just as the TC is locking up the whole truck will shudder for 3-4 seconds then smooth on out as the RPMs climb. It only does this occasionally. There are two places where it regularly does it: Both are going up a very small hill, and both are where the TC is just locking up. Transmission has right at 250k miles on it, and has only had fluid changes and one or two band adjustments. Has only towed a heavy load on occasion. Am I looking at a rebuild? I dont need a full replacement trans with triple lock billet converter, and all those bells & whistles, but I'd like to have something that I could actually tow with and not worry about having to worry about it each mile I pull.

Thanks

Craig

torque converter is slipping or chattering , they ( transmission shops ) have a oil additive that will save it's life for a while . go to a shop that you can trust and ask about it . got about 40k more miles out of my first transmission with it .

wish I did, it was in a little bottle about 3oz , you could always call 804 541-8884 ask Bob Draper what his dad put in my transmission . tell him Dave Blair told you to call him . his dad has retired now
