For those of you who voted on this thread and all others interested in the silicone hose kits I have some information. The following is a quote from an email I got from the vendor

The 2001 Dodge Truck Hose kit is as follows

7 Hose Kit ( 3 Water & 4 Air Induction)

Color Options: Black, Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Yellow & Fluorescent Yellow

I have decided to produce this particular hose kit in a 4 Ply construction for both the coolant and boost hoses.

This will give an approximate burst pressure of 15 bar and a working pressure of 3 bar on an 1 3/4" coolant Hose.

On the 3 3/4" boost Hoses an approximate burst pressure of 9 bar and a working pressure 2. 0 bar.

Two notes, one bar = 14. 5 psi and the kit says three coolant hoses but is actually four since you cut the small one in half for the hoses to and from the heater core. This is the way DC sells the hose so it is the way I did it too.

The retail cost of these hoses will be around $420 plus shipping.

I am ordering the first set and will test fit them on my truck before I let the vendor start selling them. After they are test fit I will post the phone # to call to order the kit.

Post any questions you have here and I will see what I can find out for you.

That is the way I read it. But if you think about it, how much of the time are you actually over 29psi?? and the burst is high enough.

You haven't road with me... . ;) Ask Floor It how often I am over 29psi... for periods of time. hes rode with me and knows how I drive.

With my new turbo I like to see the needle past 40psi often.

Towing in the SW where the wind never stops I have maintained 36# @ 1200* for days on end maitaining 75 mph. The truck aso gets about 7mpg at the high boost levels. Will go through 2 or 3 tanks of fuel a day, but I get there when I want to get there.

Ditto, what Chris says....

I want a set, but before I shell out that much $$ I need assurance this is much better quality than OEM. Not trying to be testy about this..... :)

Well being that the stock boost is 21 psi max I doubt that the working press is much higher than that. I am going to install a set a soon as I get them and give them a good workout.

I really have no way of finding out. The vendor for my hoses just went on vacation for two weeks. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the burst press for the stock hoses... . any one have any connections at Cummings..... I guess I can say the burst is more than 45 psi because I have hit that before..... guys have blown there hoses off before bursting one..... any one have any ideas...

John

By the way. . did the guys that wanted yellow hoses notice that there are now two colors of yellow for you???

HEY GUYS! This is Lane at Cummins Northwest in Portland Or. I just called the factory Tech guys and they are going to get the specs for these hoses to me. I will post when I get the strait poop. Could take 24 hours though. -Lane-:D

Okay, they emailed me back and want Part #'s before they can help me out. The question I have is which hoses are these excactly? I need to know so I can look up the numbers and get your info. -Lane-

I have to drive home to get the #'s. I will be there in a couple of hours and post the #'s. The only problem I see it that they are DC part #'s not Cummins.

If someone wants to just tell me which hoses they are I can find the Part #'s with out a prob. As long as it is something that Cummins puts on the truck, and not a DC thing after it leaves us.

The guys at Cummins NW here in Anchorage told me they were all DC parts, but you can look. They are the four hoses on the intake that connect the turbo to the intercooler and intercooler to intake horn. Then the upper and lower radiator hoses and the two hoses that connect the engine to the heater core behind the firewall. I have DC part #'s at home.

Sorry guys, those hoses are all DC add ons after the engine leaves us. Sorry. :( I have no way of finding out specs on those hoses. :{
