Do the fancier trucks (SLT, Laramie, Big Horn, etc. ) have a coin holder anywhere? I have an ST model and there appears to be provisions in the center console (split bench seat) for a coin holder, but there's not one there. I guess it's the small things that do bug me after all.

Also, I thought I saw a post somewhere asking about using the switche panels in the center of the dash from the more dressed up trucks as kind of "upfitter" switches. Anyone know if that's a do-able thing. There are blanks in mine and the lower switch panel is blanked out. I think they'd make for nice clean loff road light switches, etc. if you can get them from the dealer and wire in your own relay, etc.

Anyhow... thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes, there is in mine anyway. I have the 3500 Laramie SRW with the split bench seat. It is in the seat back, top right corner and it has these spring loaded holders that you slide coins in. Not sure how to explain it exactly but, it's like loading the magazine of a gun. It has space for nickels, dime and quarters.

About the switches, it wouldn't be cheap but if you knew how to do the wiring, I don't see why you couldn't get the switches from the dealer and use them for whatever you need. I wish they would make some blank ones as I would buy some myself.

Thanks Craig, that's what I was hoping for. On mine, in the same place you describe your coin holder to be is 2 or 3 ridges that look to me as thouogh they were meant to retain something. I was hoping it was a coin holder... . I hate digging through the cup holders for spare change!! Hopefully I can go to the dealer and order just the coin holder piece itself.

I hope we can order just individual switches to replace the blank out pieces... even if there is only 1 connector per switch panel, we should be able to jump in on the other side of the connector. It sure would make for clean installations.

Thanks again for your help Criag,

I don't have her with me at work today but when I get home, I'll see if there is a part number on the coin holder and post it for you.

I pulled the fascia off mine a few weeks ago to hook up an exhaust brake power relay (as described someplace here) but it was totally different than the one described. I was expecting to see numerous switches with wires coming off each one but that was not the case. There was a cover across all the switches with just one connector. Stupid me didn't take any pictures and I knew I should have. No doubt this can be done but I'm not sure how.

I saw a VW Jetta on Saturday that had an old chrome paper boy change maker zip tied to the driver's door map pocket. That work?Oo.

I thought it was rather innovative.
