Wow, it took HTT all of a month to copy a competitors turbo? I guess I know where I will not be buying a turbo from now...

Hold on just a sec... I would call HTT and ask before you write them off. I bought my 66mm Sledpuller before the SuperPhatShaft66 was even out... And they have had SP66 upgrades for a long time, they just never named it a different name like II did.

The truth is no one knows who copied who in the beginning, and I dont care. Just call both companies and see what both have to offer. .

I like my HTT turbo, And alot of people like II turbo, both are good, Just dont write one company off because of what someone posted in a forum ;)

Tomygun is right. There are a lot of good products out by different companys that put in a lot of research. This is nothing but good for us.

Almost every turbo vendor out there is using some flavor of the S300, and most try to make theirs a bit different from the next guy - and all have their own marketing spin as to why theirs is better. Let’s face it, there are only so many combinations of compressor wheels, turbine wheels, bearings, and turbine housings that are available! Some combinations obviously work better than others, and it seems like IIS and HTT's turbos are consistently being touted as the better choices on the market.

The Silver Bullet is getting some major props lately, and from the sounds of things, for very good reason. The boys at IIS have spent a lot of time & money both in R&D and acquiring an inventory to market the turbo. I personally feel that it would be unethical for any company to reverse engineer a competitor's product, then market it to the public as being an exact knock off as their competition. I know this happens over and over in most aspect of our lives, but when it comes to our small truck market, I'll take my money elsewhere if this is indeed the true story.

The sled puller was on the market long before the PS66

Oo. the phat shaft and super phat shaft are not the same as the high tech turbos----if you guys looked at them closer or even took some apart and worked on them then you would know that there is a clear difference, that difference is why i choose industrial injection. the silver bullet is not close to anything on the market in design or power ability, it is in a class all by it self. :-laf

Thats one thing I HAVE heard is that the Silver Bullet, Althought a 66mm turbo... It is very, very, very different from the SPS66 (this from I. I. )

Although I saw on HTT website that Jeff Garmon pulled 72 lbs of boost on a SP66 (slightly modified) -- So that means they are modifying them more than the usual SLedpuller66... Not saying thats the same as the Silver Bullet, But there are at least more then one to choose from :)

PS - Looks like HTT has a ball bearing available too:

I'm sure all turbos are not the same. We need to be able to match the turbo to what we want to do with out trucks. It's nice to have the many turbos out there to choose from. We didn't have this a couple of years ago.

Now I'm ready to be covered up with injectors for the 04. 5.

The idea of HTT making our turbo is absolutley rediculous. We have had a crazy time trying to get enough parts to make Silver Bullets. We have been buying new turbos, new center sections and even a few used turbos to get the parts to make Silver Bullets. We have been searching the country for anything that is available. Then we have to completely remake the parts to fit our design. I sincerely do not think HTT has ever made one. And I don't think Eldon ever would. As far as our Super series turbos go, we checked with the factory as to the sales of parts, center sections and complete turbos that would have the parts we use in our Super Phat Shaft turbos. Borg Warner showed us that only two turbos with those parts had ever been sold in the After Market. We asked these questions because we were worried about supply and being able to move our sales forward. So since HTT was not one of these customers then how did HTT ever get these parts before we did? After the turbo proves it self and other distributors start asking and calling in favors as to what the Super Phat Shaft is made of would anyone get any parts to duplicate our turbos. HTT are great guys but some miss information is going on here. But it may not be by them. We always put in the research to make you great products. Thanks, Brady

Tomeygun We also have the same turbos available from Garrett. We also have those turbos in stock. The reason we have not pushed them yet is the turbos are not rebuildable and what we see in them has not impressed us yet. If I could sell boxes and get you the same results, we would save our selves a lot of effort in making our turbos. The stage1 has a 3" exhaust outlet which is not up to anyones standards on this forum. Thanks

I didn't get a silver bullet, but I got winner !!!!

Well, as only Bob Wagner knows, my truck is totally stock, and after May Madness, a little "tweaking" was needed. I wanted a Silver Bullet, however, Industrial Injection is awaiting some more shafts to build them, so I'm on the wait list as well..... I opted for a "custom" built SP62 today and some injectors to appease my nerves... when I said custom, I mean custom... I was fortunate enough to watch each step, talk to the tech building my very own turbo... I mean from scratch! Machining, balancing, grinding and assembly etc. I have been to Industrial Injection many times before, however, never had a turbo built especially for me and watch the process. Let me tell you, the care and precession that II puts into each turbo, and pumps is a site to be hold. Not because I was standing there, but in all the others being built today... For the sake of warranty, and the threat of Brady killing me or one of his hundred sons, I can not disclose what was actually done to my truck. :-laf :-laf

I can say however, it performs a little better than at May Madness. .

The Silver Bullet looks like it is the king of all singles just as I thought the SPS 66 was just about a year ago. What's scary to me is that Brett's truck makes just shy of my boost numbers with the Twins..... but not for long.

I do know that he can't make 80psi with 100-120 intake temp :D And for the record I'm staying with the same 66.

Based on the HP estimates, I agree... Fancy idea with the ballbearing, But certainly not finding its way on my truck...

BTW Brett, I would like to try a SPS66 or maybe even a Silvet Bullet (although I know those are in short supply) - Whats the odds of you taking this Sled66 off my hands and making me a "special" deal? ;)

I always thought both the HTT and II offerings were awful similar to the B1 series that have been around longer than most of you, if you want to get down to who copied who first :-laf... ... . but as was said, there are only so many platforms to start from, so they are all gonna look the same.

The truth? Because I will never know which is best on my truck unless I actually try a I. I. turbo... You know the saying - talk is cheap, I like to test for myself...

(also its a good reason to wrench on the truck :))
