IColeman,

I never mounted one of those but a quick search for some ideas turned up a fella that came up with something that looks pretty good. Read through

This thread

There are pics that shows what he did using the same VSM mount from Pro-Fit I mentioned above. The pdf doc. For the mount on your truck is this one Lucky for you, yours is an auto trans.

The magnet they used with the above bracket is this one.

Thanks again Matt, the mounts they have are nice and all but i dont like the idea of covering up one of my power outlets and cutting into my dash, I think I might buy the car kit and mess with that a little bit as well as some brackets that I can think up. Ive attached a pic of the setup now, Its nice but the thing vibrates wayyyyy to much when driving down the road.

Hold on... one more idea here,

How about using the same method by not using the AXCT auto mount and using the above magnet idea but go with a different mounting plate like this one:

No cutting into the dash, bolts right in. Mounting instructions are here

From what I have read the XACT auto kit was not working well for many.

Notice this company's bracket slips through the dash on the verticle rather than horizontal like the first one I mentioned, this would make it much more sturdy also.

Looks like an even better way to go on the XACT in your 01 and should also work well with sticks where the other would be for auto's only.
