Yep, after waiting for 3 years, I finally took the plunge and levelled my truck. Can't count the threads I've read about it, trucks I've drooled over, etc.
After researching the install procedure on here (ain't the search feature great?), I decided to start taking my truck apart. Driver's side went easy as cake. I took Damon's advice about the 24" extension... extremely valuable advice. I also noted that the older style bushings are no longer being shipped with the Bilsteins. Mine came with a set that was very similar to stock.
The install went as planned, almost. After I got the driver's side done, which involved removing the lower bolt for the upper link, I tackled the passenger side. Expecting it to go easier, I was surprised that it was actually harder. Removing the bottom shock bolt was the hardest part and took some creative wrenching. Once everything was apart, the new shocks and springs went in easily.
Cool, now that it sat level, it was time to replace the rear shocks. Got the stockers removed without a hitch. Went to install the new Bilsteins... opened the boxes and one of the shocks was wrong. It had the right part number on the box and on the shock, but it had a bayonet end instead of an eye on the frame mount side. Oh well... I'll call OffRoadWarehouse tomorrow and see if they'll make it right. I have faith they will. I was reminded of how important it is to check all your parts before you begin a project like this though... .
So, the truck is sitting in my driveway, levelled and only running 3 shocks. Makes for an interesting ride... doubt I'll go very far in it until I get that other shock in. I'll take pics and post them in my readers rigs section later today or tomorrow.
