Good news/bad news

Fartless Chili

Whats with you Texans today. Are you and Barry trying to irritate me. How about giving Texas back to Mexico or at least give Kingwood back to the Comanche's.

The Indians have more opportunities than any white eyes, they just don't have the gumption to take advantage of them. They are in the minority affirmative action catagory.

I know Indians that have done quite well in private business. And with a big advantage over me. Their health insurance was supplied by the tribe. I always had to pay for mine, and it is no small expense.

They don't have to lay around drinking lysol. They have a head start on every one else if they would get off their a$$ and take advantage of it. Besides they would get lost in Wyoming.

I can whup you to a frazzle too.

WyoJim, Nothing against Wyoming or its residents, but it is not heavily populated,, has a lot of government owned land, and is still very pristine.

BTW, it is Listerine, not Lysol. I prefer scope, it has that nice Creme de Mint flavor.

And as far as giving them California, well, it is so screwed up now, could giving it away really make anything worse??

Texas has already been given back to Mexico, we just dont know it yet.

Those of us here in the greater Houston area know that it has! My college government teacher said that by 2020, Spanish will be spoke more in Texas then English. My old high school(class of '98), had more people in ESL(English as a second langauge) than in my graduating class.

The day reperations are approved is the same day that ole' Shrimpy starts to really TRY to screw the goverment. Here is how:

1. Those of us who work for someone, go straight to the Human resources dept and fill out a new W-4 form. File Married and 10 (M-10). If every working person in America did this, do you realize the disruption that would be caused with the in flow of money to the Fed.

2. Go down and sign up for every FREE program avaliable. I know personally, that I have never taken any type of public assistance and would have to swallow my pride to do it.

3. If you own your own business, visit a GOOD CPA, who will help you get EVERY deduction that you can for income tax purposes. And most of all, when possible, do jobs for cash. DO NOT put this cash in the bank.

4. Remember that the money they (FED) are giving away is YOURS and mine. It is also the Black folks who do not agree or support this idea, and see it for what it is, simply a vote buying scheme.

WYOJIM, there is a great amount of land in what I call the deep south, Texas, Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia etc. that is owned by black families. They have large family farms that are quite successful. It is the myth and lie of the media that blacks are held down by anyone other than themselves. I admire and respect ANYONE who has a successful business in these times.

Off my soap box for now... ...

Sic semper tyrannis!

Texas Diesel, I remember reading more on (dis)honest Abe. Here is a link to a good article about Lincoln, the war, and the beginning of the end of our republic.

Excerpt:
Not only was the Supreme Law of the land in jeopardy, but these acts by a president resulted in the murder of 26,576 (numbers published by Lincoln’s cabinet) Northern and Southern non-combatants, the arrest of approx. 20,000 political opponents who spoke out against the injustice; along with a signed arrest warrant for a Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and the shutting down of over 300 Northern newspapers along with the threat and/or murder of the owners and their employees. Northern State legislatures were arrested rather than allow even the debate of secession to occur.
Just out of curiousity is Lincoln the only president to have tried arresting the Chief Justice of the Supream Court?

Extreme measures for extreme times.

I for one think that reparations are just another ploy at something for nothing. As far as the indian nations getting reparations I will quote a full blooded Ogalla Soiux "The white man has done enough. PLEASE leave us alone!"

As far as Lincolns actions at and during the civil war. Extreme measures were needed to retain, keep civil order, and protect the core of the homeland. Not nuch different than Bushes administration holding over 1000 people in custody without charging them or releasing any of their names. Extreme measures for extreme times. When your enemy is your neighbor, who do you trust. Just be glad that the civil war is over, it took way too many lives and divided a countrys ideals and goals for too long.

The South lost, get over it! Be glad the north still lets you have a flag. :D :p

I think that the "Afro-Americans should study their Black History a little more.

They will find that it was not the white man that sold them into slavery , but their own people.

At that point in history, slavery was an accepted form of life. Even the slaves of the south were not unhappy with their situation.

I would gladly give money to pay to send any of them back if they are that unhappy here.

Reparations for a generation that doesn't know what real hardship is is nothing but BULLS**T

IMO this would be just another step BACKWARDS! Everyone at one time or another were slaves, persecuted, inprisoned and so on. If our country would give "settlements" to everybody who felt they were entitled to them we would be nothing short of a nation of fools! I did not do anything regarding keeping slaves... and grandpa and grandma were not even here!

Race war? If you keep nursing the problem it will never die!

Mike

If they want restitution paid for the slave labor of their ancestors then is only fair that restitution be paid by them for their looting and burning of our cities? If they are not concerned about restitution for their acts of this generation ... . why should we be concerned about something that happened over 150 years ago?

Actually this "injun" is doing fine without reparations; and , I have never accepted a "red" cent in minority hand outs. studend aid, or anyother hand in the taxpayers pocket.

Not real sure where it was pride/shame/ignorance or just what that kept me from looking for any of that when I was going through college and law school entirely on my own earnings------none from family or government.

course the days did get a little long at times, especially in law school where we ALLWAYs had 8;00 AM classes (the law school Dean thought it gave us good work habbits) and I got off work at 11;00 PM, with a three mile bike ride home and then three miles back by 8 next morning.

Gents I am a black man and I don`t ask ANYONE for handouts.

My wife and I work everyday,we are hard workers,we pay our unfair amount of taxes(I think we all do) and we send our children to school to learn the three r`s,reading, riti`n,n rithmatic(Our children are honor roll/straight A students). I tell my children that nobody owes them a thing. Nothing in this world is free, and do not expect anything for free,it ain`t happening.

This reparations thing is getting under my skin. You all know good and darned well that there will never be a reparations payout to the American Blacks. For what? This is a ploy by the likes of the so called black leaders(Jackson and Sharpton),and the left(reguardless of color on the left). I see this as a way to continue the them vs us rally. It makes me sick to witness this rubish. I also see that mentality here on th TDR(send them back to Africa). I am not going back to Africa,I did not come from Africa,I was born in the USA,I am an American(that happens to be black). And damned proud of it. Take me for who I am not my color, and viceversa.

My grandmother was Blackfoot American. I don`t claim that I am part Native American. Not ashamed of it,but what for? To try and get ahead?Get real.

The rev`s Jackson and Sharpton do not represent nor speak for my family and me.

Don`t worry about reparations,it ain`t happening.

Keep your powder dry,and watch your six.

:( :(

JSmith you are exactly right. Everyone should live in the moment and work hard for the future. Anything else is a distraction and keeps you from reaching your full potential.

Mr Smith,

Please do not take it that I think ALL Afro-Americans should be sent back, just those who want to be because we "violated" them way back when. I share your views very much.

Also love this quote from 956Wheel

"Race war? If you keep nursing the problem it will never die!"

My hat's off to you JSmith. In conversation with two black co-workers, they feel the same. Jackson and our local Uhurus are motivated by something we don't care to participate in. Unfortunately, I think racism is just another form of human nature. We are all prejudiced. When something bad happens, our natural reaction is to try to disassociate ourselves from the perpetrators by any means available. They did the crime because they're a certain color or religion or maybe of another country other than our own. That way we release ourselves of being part of a group of people that could commit such a crime. Remember Timothy McVey (sp?)?. We were sure it was a middle easterner. How could it be one of our own regardless of color?

At work we use humor to squelch any racism that might make someone uncomfortable. We're all colored people. We all ride in the back of the bus. And we all like fried chicken! We poke fun at each other now and then about our stereotypes. It puts a smile and alittle laughter where anger used to be because we know at least for us, there's no truth to the stereotypes. It works for some but I'm sure not for all. I wish it did. My two black co-workers are embarrassed by the actions of some blacks in our area as I'm embarrassed by the actions of some whites. They themselves didn't realize that the majority of welfare recipients by far is white unwed mothers. Not blacks. But that's the popular belief.

There was a lot of injustice done to American Indians and Black Americans. There was horrible injustices done to whites by Hitler. We can't undo it. We have to move forward and distance ourselves from an ugly past. We can't move forward if we're looking back. We'll crash.

I for one would hate to see our government do any payout for this, but like mentioned before it won't happen. The Rev. Jackson is the biggest racist on the planet. His sole purpose is to create controversy and keep racism alive. When he loses this case, I say he should be counter sued for and forced to repay all the money he is wasting.

JSmith, I am proud to be a fellow member with you. You speak the truth. You arent blinded by the seperatism that Jackson, Sharpton and a select few Democrats have been trying. Unfortunately, a vast majority of the Black culture in America isnt as educated as you about what is right and wrong. Reparations for ex-slaves of over 100 years ago is wrong.

Here in Houston the urban Blacks tend to think differently than you.

I see where you might think a lot of people here wish that all blacks should go back to Africa. Most of the posts state that those who dont like it here and bit*h about America constantly should be afforded the chance to go back where they came from. That should go for Whites, Blacks, Asians, and Mexicans.

Steve M. Listen to Talk radio, over the past few days, it has been almost proven that there was an Arab connection with the Ok City bombing. I will try to get the website. Several independant eyewitnesses placed a certain ex-Saddam Guard with Mcvee days before, and the day of the bombing. He was picked out of a lineup by many different witnesses, and the prosecution ignored it. I will try to get that information in detail.

JSmith, I have a high opinion of people like yourself that are not afraid to talk about this issue. I appreciate and respect your opinions and agree with them. Happy to have you in the TDR.

Greg

Reparations have been paid for in Northern and Southern blood and loss of treasure in the war. To ask for more is dishonoring that sacrifice.
