Utah State Fair Truck Pulls???

Alright , I got a date secured for the sled pull here in Southern California. It is actually going to be on Sunday Sept. 19th instead of the 18th. The location is the Agua Dulce Airpark in Agua Dulce, CA. Its about 25 minutes north of Valencia and 25 minutes south of Palmdale off the 14 fwy. There will be overnight dry camping on site for those that want to get in a day ahead of time. Plenty of room for as many RV's as want to attend. I would encourage coming Saturday and spending the evening there. Good chance to catch up with everyone and meet some new friends. I have a decent number of guys who have already committed to coming, anyone else who is interested start speaking up and spread the word. The timing of the event makes it ideal as a warm up for Tulare.

This will be an All Brands Diesel event including show and shine, vendors, sled pull, BBQ etc. This will be a first event of its kind for Southern California as far as I know. I'm not aware of any sled pulls South of Tulare, so plan on coming on out for a full day of Diesel activities. For those who have never attended a sled pull, you will surely be impressed seeing this much power put to work hooked to the sled.

If all goes as planned, the pullers from central/northern Cal. should see some other participants besides the usual. Southern California is powerstroke country, and the performance shops planning to attend should bring a decent Ford contigent with them. That is good for everyone.

I will be continually updating with information as it becomes available. Go here for location and some other info on the venue.

The "shut down" on sled pulling will have no effect on this event. There is nothing in place to prevent any pulls from happening. The groups that have discontinued diesel pulls are doing so at their own discretion. I totally agree that this is something that we will have to deal with as time goes on, but presently it will have no impact on this event. So plan on coming out.

Rrausch, I work in Santa Monica. Where abouts are you?

Craig

Craig- make sure you get all of the information to our local site and we will get it up on the events section of the site. Let me know.

Also, we are going to be having alot of vendors at the Foothill Festival- I would hope you are planning on coming out for that;) You might be able to convince some of the vendors to setup shop down there. It's not easy though... .

Kev

Hey Kev, I'm coming to your Foothill event, and so are some of the others from Diesels in The Desert. I will pre register ASAP, I know how important that is to someone planning the event.

I will continue to get more info out as it comes about this event. There is a decent amount of activity on the subject at your site. Probably not a bad idea to talk to the vendors at the Foothill event. Believe me, I'm already working on them.

Anyway, hope you and a bunch of your guys will make it. Should be fun, and a first for many of them to see sled pulling.

Craig

Craig, September is an ugly month for me in my line of work (school photography/publishing) but being Sunday I should be able to make it for sure.

I am glad to here you are making it to Foothill- I am going to give Leon a call and get him to round up his crew:D .

It's really shaping up to be an awesome event, we have some BIG name vendors lined up- Gale Banks HIMSELF is planning on attending and we might just get to see Project Sidewinder in person:eek: ... ... ...

I'll get the information to my members early and get them out there in September. As of now, we only have events setup through August, so this would be a good Sept event for the So Cal group.

The date is set, september 19 is the day. There will be free, dry, RV camping at the location on Saturday the 18th, the night before the event. I will start announcing vendors and others soon. I can tell you that Four wheeler Magazine has confirmed that they will be there with thir "Baja Bomber" as they call it. I will try to post a copy of the flyer here, not sure I can though.

Craig

I am going the day of, but I think I am pretty far from you. I live just west of Agua Dulce over in Santa Clarita.

I need to get an idea on how many guys will be looking for rooms in the area of this event. I want to set up some group rates but need to see how many people need rooms. I'm assuming most would just want a room for the night before which is Saturday the 18, but if anyone wants one for Sunday the 19th as well, let me know. Also, don't forget there is free camping at the airpark. That could be a real good time if we get enough of you there. So find a friend with a motorhome if you don't have one. Let me know either way.

Craig

Erik,

No pre registration. You can register the day of the event for the pull and the show and shine. Costs $10 to get in the motorsports park for the weekend and free RV camping Fri, Sat, Sun. Then its up to you on what events you want to enter to determine the rest of the costs. For all that haven't seen, make sure you are aware of the venue change from the airpark to Willow Springs Raceway. It will work better in the long run. Go here for more details-
