Competition Truck pull in Greenville, TN

Went to the sled pull at the West End Fair in Union Co. PA tonight. Well sort of. The light division started @ 7pm with the heavy trucks later. Everybody was done by 8:30pm. I got there at 8:35. Missed them all. Anyway, one strong Cummins that died at the lfull pull ine. I was wondering about the "can't (won't) show or talk about what "my" truck has or doesn't have in it. I just wanted to talk to the guy and see if he had any association with the TDR or anything else but I got shot down pretty quick. I didn't think I was pushy or anything like that. Just trying to be sociable. Is this how it is at all sled pulls? I am slowly converting my 95 into a sled puller so I can pull mostly for the fun of it or bragging rights with the locals. It doesn't seem like as much fun when nobody talks. But then again most people know what the others are running anyway. Or am I wrong?

Confused:confused:

Guy must have been a gas puller who converted.

The Hot Stock class in NW PA will talk your ears off. Of course, its not all good info!!;)

I have went out of my way to answer any questions asked of me.

Too much, according to my crew chief. :D

I always get a few guys coming up to my truck after i pull or run ,who act as if they are knowledgeable about these trucks. The conversation usually starts with them telling me they know i MUST have a Banks kit and propane to get that kind of power from my truck. Lots of experts out there too, ive been corrected a few times when i used to tell them i ran nitrous, id get corrected,no you mean propane for a diesel you cant run nitrous! with that id say oh yeah it must be propane in that bottle;)

Alot of guys don't want to give away their "secrets". The guys that only pull a few times a year usually don't have much invested into pulling, but those that pull every weekend need to keep some sort of competetive edge over the competition. It's funny how once you start competing and people see you run, you will meet alot of "experts" and guys with the 900hp daily drivers.
