Competition Question for those who have done the 271 t-case swap

Jim Fulmer said:
A B/B is allot bigger than a S400 by a long shot, think about it! Why would I run one that small on my truck. Heck my SPS66 will flow nearly that much.

Jim

Jim, they are using them in single turbo form, and when you pop one sled pulling you're not out sps66 money.

Yea I know you guys are running a 400 as a single and I have to agree with you on that one, but how could you pop a SPS with the wastegate working

I thought you were saying that a B/B was a S400 earlier!

Jim

I never thought I would say this, but Mr. Fulmer, your pretty much wrong that a SPS66 will flow as much as an S400. And yes you can override the crap out of that wastegate and send that SPS66 to the moon with the right amount of fuel. An S400 is a sweet setup for sled-pulling, with the right exhaust housing on it.

Open ended statement... ... there is no percentage or set amount, it's all up to the reader.

And stop calling me Mr. I'm not that dang old :D

Do you pulling guys ever run an external wastegate to you can tune the turbo to it's Map and get rid of the extra drive pressure. Not a puller here, just a thought!

My fork is always ready to eat a piece of humble pie ;)

I think the sp66 or whatever it's called is just another over-priced internet charger. I have yet to see one on a winning truck. Haisley's s4 is an awesome charger. But still too much $$$ for me.

I just like the turbo because it works from me, but mine is a street truck... ..... I did put 17K on it last year! Once a street truck puts 50 hp on me without a bottle then I'll think different... ... freakin bottles are for baby's.

Like I've said before, a grand to the tire on #2 only is the mark to beat.

Boy did this thread get off track..... maybe I should go back and delete all my posts.

Jim

Joe,

Maybe you should share some of your knowledge with the "internet" people instead of just pointing out what is no good.

Let the part numbers fly..... :-laf

but that sp66 is so huge, a 2. 6" wheel. WOah, how can anyone spool that monster.

haha, your right on Jdailey.

Actually isn't the Haisley pulling charger a scheid built charger? And yes they are pricey. Since we have Gene in here, any rules that say an external wastegate can't be run in the street class? Back to the street class charger and how many of the trucks are actually streetable??

I know the Missouri Madman drove his truck on the road daily for quite a while. And I am pretty sure I seen Gene gettin off of the highway in his rig last year or the year before in Terre Haute.

The Holset was the last turbo I had on, I liked the S-4 better.

If touchy gov springs, no power til 3000, and 35 degrees of timing doesn't bother you, sure the truck was streetable. There was plenty of black marks on the street to prove it. Oo.

Curt Haisley said with one of the injection pumps he has for his truck it was "streetable. "

The pump he had on at IRP was NOT streetable. He said any crack in the road would give you a 300-400rpm jump!
