My personal experience with Slick 50: I bought an Oldsmobile from a friend for $50, in perfect shape except for Slick 50 damage. The Teflon "platelets" had settled out of the Slick 50 and made a slick muck pudlen in the lifter valley. The muck clogged oil drain passages, and clogged the passage that supplies oil to the timing chain. Timing gears disintegrated and valves met pistons head-on. I replaced the bent pushrods, spent the better part of a week cleaning the Slick 50 muck out, and put the engine back together with a new gasket set, and filled it with Amsoil! Other than a badly worn camshaft, the engine was in rather good shape (NOT a tribute to Slick 50!!!) It ran pretty darn well for a few years until it broadsided a Ford pickup that ran a stop sign. So thanks to slick 50, I had a pretty decent Olds 98 for a total of about $250 plus two weeks of aggravating spare time labor! But I wouldn't put the stuff in an outhouse door hinge!!!
