Has anybody put a slide in cabover camper on an'03 with Happi Jacs? Do Happi Jacs work with the front of the new bed?

Happi Jacs with '03 Bed

Thanks,

I think Dodge tried to save 50 cents on the front of the '03 beds. Maybe the torque lock system would be better, I don't know. I like Happi Jacs and have used them on three trucks.

Camper tiedowns

Best bet is to hold the camper down to the frame of the truck not the bed. As you are driving down the road the wind will work at lifting the camper off the truck and in turn with the happi jacs it will pull on the corners of the bed as well as the rear bumper.

Go with the Tork Lift, they are built well and have great service, they mount to the frame and have spring loaded tie downs.

I have them on my truck and am extremely please with them.

Hope this helps

David;)

If you go with the Torklift frame mounted brackets for the front, make sure they are manufactured (they will have a manufacture date label on the box) after 1/6/03. If they were manufactured before that date, you will have to drill two holes in your frame rail. Torklift changed the design later without changing the part number. The later ones dont require any drilling.

For the rear, the Torklifts didn't fit my 03' at all. The holes were in the wrong location and the flanges on their brackets didn't have the correct spacing as our frame rails. I called them and they couldn't help. I ended up installing the chrome rear bumper pins that everyone uses and took the Torklifts back.

Hope this helps.
