Small Handheld Steam Cleaners for Engine Cleaning?

As springtime draws near I'm starting to think about cleaning my filthy engine compartment. I could use a degreaser chemical and garden hose, but I was wondering if anyone's ever tried one of those small handheld steam machines? Seems like one might be useful for carefully working into small crevaces and spaces without the fear of hosing down a connector.

I bought one at Costco a couple years ago, Tryed it once and took it back!

Steam wouldn't get Hot enough to remove any of the gunk, and very little pressure.
