Has anyone had any experience stacking a smarty with hot juice. I am assuming being that (05) ctd/hot juice doesnt have any pressure can the smarty deliver pressure only? WHat has been the succesful stack. I was going to get rid of my hot juice/a2 but i really like the gps and the tst does not seem to be that much better (that i would spend anoth 1000)

i would put other fueling enhancements on your truck before you decide to get rid of the hot juice, i have had many successfull runs with it, i have run very consisitent 12's with it as well, so it's very capable, also since you have the a2 monitor as well, smarty might be nice but i wouldent waste all the cool stuff you have for the smarty, unless you are in need of a change and have the extra money to give away... ... ... we talked before and i know that the combo we talked about will work, save your money and spend it somewhere else  the hot juice and the smarty dont work very well together, i dont know why

Hot Juice and Smarty

I have the Hot Juice/Attitude, EZ and the Smarty. My first test was to unhook the EZ and I tried the Smarty alone, (the HJ/A I left on stock). I loved the power and response of the Smarty but I was not gaining any friends in the Atlanta area traffic because of the low end smoke. I'll be downloading one of the new programs when Marco finishes them - I think will be more to my liking.

I tried the Smarty, (60hp no timing), with the various levels of the HJ/A and also believe this is a less than ideal combo. Do you think its because the HJ/A fuels heavy on the bottom end? I only used the Smarty on the "no timing" settings with the HJ/A because I don't know what the HJ/A does to the timing and I sure don't want to grenade the motor.

My "seat of the pants meter" tells me the HJ/A,(level 5 = 180hp), with the three position EZ switch set to 2 is much stronger on the top end than the Smarty alone or the Smarty with the EZ on postion 1 or 2.

I am reluctant to turn up the HJ/A and run the Smarty at the higher levels especially the levels with the added timing.

Does anyone know what the HJ/A does to the timing?? I pretty sure the HJ/A does not add pressure for the 2004. 5 and 2005 motors.

I would appreciate any input from those knowledgable folks out there.

the edge is programed for the stock ecm, it modifies those parameters, when those parameters are changed ( smarty ) it can no longer clearly understand whats going on. thats where your power loss is coming from.

Hot Juice / Attitude with EZ and Smarty

Diesel Power - Thanks for the input, what would you recommend with my current mods? Sell the HJ/A and the EZ and get latest TST to compliment the Smarty?

that or a pressure box or both... ... ... ... :--)

What would it take to get the HOT Juice in the 13's? My truck is stock except for HOT Juice, Magnaflow muffler, and I have my AFE Proguard sitting in the garage right now (stock box is on the truck).

I know the transmission is a no-brainer, but besides that, what else is needed?

A good downloader with the juice and plenty of air. :D

I'm not a genius when it comes to this stuff, I need specifics. What "good downloader?" And plenty of air? Do you mean a bigger turbo? Or are you talking the AFE and removal of CAT/Muffler?

Inquiring minds want to know!

big turbo like a 66 or a set of fast spooling twins for the air part. Good downloader... ..... that would be a Smarty or ehhhh the crazy larry from bully dog. The crazy larry is good, if you get a good one. If you get a bad one, look out. :D

This thread was started saying that Smarty and HOT Juice don't do well together. I have been paying very close attention to all of the Smarty threads, and I was hoping it would stack with the Juice, but that doesn't appear to be the case. So I can't get into the 13's without a new turbo, huh? My buddy has a Duramax with the new EFI Live system, and guys are getting into the 13's all day with stock turbos and injectors with their DMax's.

I don't know how long those trucks will last, but right now they're doing it.

I'm kind of surprised I need an aftermarket turbo (or even twins) just to be able to run with those guys.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Oh you said 13's  I misread it, thought you were shooting for 12's. 13's could probably be done with the factory charger, but you are asking a lot of it. As for the Duramax turbos, they are a different design all together than what we have.

I ran 13. 8s all day with HOT Juice/Attitude and EZ stack. Had tc/trans upgraded, FASS, II SPS66, AFE air intake and Banks muffler. This was on 315s at about 7400lbs.

So you did need a turbo to get there, huh? Oh well. I guess you've got to pay to play, huh? :D

im going to go out on a limb here and say that you dont need more than the hot juice and a transmission to go 13's after that stack a pressure box on it and then look for more fuel. Oo.

I agree. Marianne at HTS has an 05 with an intake, their bully dog program, and a pressure box, (stock turbo, injectors, cp3) it runs 13 flat consistantly.

Actually I may have been able to get there without the turbo upgrade. Just did not try. I was sucking the lp down to zero and had the FASS and II SPS66 done at the same time. I was in the very low 14s with the stock turbo and EGTs were never a problem with my HOT Juice/EZ stack.
