My friend has a 2005 Ford Superduty with the 6. 0 PSD, he put the Edge Juice with attitude in the truck after about 1000 miles. He started having all kinds of major engine problems when the truck had 20k on it, sever overheating when towing, turbo problems to name a few. When he went in for warranty service they couldn't get it to overheat since it would only do it while towing his toy hauler. After repeated trips to the dealer and him taking pictures of his dash while towing his toy hauler on a trip where it was in the red and warning lights were flashing, they said they would have a Ford factory tech ride with him while he towed, he always took out the Edge stuff when he took it in for warranty. So he hitched up his toy hauler and picked up the Ford guy. The Ford guy hooks up some oversized laptop computer to the truck and they go for a ride, the truck starts its redlining and burning coolant like it always does, even though the Edge has been off the truck for a while.
So they say it's a gasket or something, but on his next trip it overheats real bad and he just let it go, the coolant has oil in it and the reservoir blows the lid an splatters coolant/oil all over the engine bay, now the truck barely runs, Ford agrees that his engine is toast, so they warranty replace the entire engine, the bill was over 15 grand and it was in the dealer for a month. They never tried to deny warranty service due to engine mods, he had turbo back exhaust, air intake, pyro, the normal stuff. So they were deep in the computer and never found that he had a Edge Juice. The truck is now on it's second engine and is at about 38K, just out of warranty, except the engine has 100K warranty, he goes to get some coffee in the morning and suddenly the transmission springs a huge leak, it is dumping transmission fluid out of a hole on the side of the transmission, a hole just appeared out of nowhere, i couldn't beleive it either, so back to the dealer it goes, where he is told the the transmission is only covered for the 36K warranty not the 100K powertrain warranty, they tell him they will replace the transmission for 5 grand. Moral of the story, the power adders are not that easily detectable and don't buy a Ford unless you like driving rental cars.
