Hey guys,

where do you run these two? I added the smarty recently and looooove it:) Just curious what everyone is running them on. It seems with the sticks, smarty on 4 or 6 comp 2x3 is perfect. I will start towing my lawn trailer again soon and am thinking maybe 4 on smarty. What do you guys run?

Currently running my Smarty on 6 and the comp on 1x2. The new hotrod pump allowed me to turn down my setting on the comp for just runnin' around.

Will you be at Kearney next weekend?

Just driving around SW2 & comp only when I wanna play. I use SW2 & 3x5 for pulling heavy loads..... works really well.

Yeah, I have started using SW2 and so far like it. I had been running SW5 and on a whim tried SW3 then SW2. From what I can tell over SW5 I have not really given up anything. Just had to get used to pushing the peddle down farther for the same response. SW2 or SW3 also gives me allot more control over smokage mostly around town especially with my 3rd to 4th gear shifts.

I am not sure what SW2 and SW3 does differently compared to the Catcher SW's. For SW2 the Smarty manual says "Fuel +boost". It says "Fuel +boost +timing" for SW3.

I like SW2 over SW3 because it really quiets down the timing rattle and seems to help a bit to smooth out my idle when it is cold out. I have not run it long enough to tell how it will effect fuel economy.

No more Mountain Lion purr, just a little Kitten purr now... .

I agree... . it does seem to smooth out on sw2. I don't need anything more than that & just don't want to push the limits. Towing as heavy as I do... . just feels better & smoother to run smarty on sw2 & adjust my comp for the hills. I was gonna try towing with sw6 & shut my comp off, but it just runs to smooth on sw2 & 3x3 to ask for more.

Thanks for all the responses. I might try moving the smarty down to sw2 and see what that does. I was thinking maybe leaving it on sw4 for the summer and maybe 2x2 on comp. I guess I got an excuse to drive more now:D

I run the Smarty on #8 and the Comp Drag off for general around town driving. (too jumpy) Out in the country where I can get up and run I keep the comp set at 3X3 and just turn it on when I want it. Real good power and very little smoke unless I stab the throttle to fast. Any lower comp settings gives me a nasty turbo bark due to defueling at shifts. I keep the #5 on the comp on 5X5 so two quick pushes and I'm ready to play.

I tried towing with these settings today..... pulls well... . lots of umph off the line. I may just run it more often... . Thanks BILLVO!

I ran mine on the way back to KC from Omaha today on SW#0 (half power) and Level 1X1 on the JA. I typically dont do this but my cruise surges so bad on anything else that I run it on long highway trips where I diont need 500+HP on tap. I was really suprised that the truck still doesnt run bad at half power, and absolutely no surge when I set the cruise.

I will never run half power again. I ran it one time & sure enough a Powerjoke pulls up hot rodding next to me. Luckily we pulled into the same gas station... . so I could make a little adjustment. :-laf

:-laf I was worried about that once I got into town as well, I saw a couple of duramax's with exhaust and quietly passed them by hoping they didnt stand on it and embarass me, but for a long interstate trip it sure worked well to tame the cruise control. :)

I have a hot VP-44 and sticks, I set the Smarty on SW8 and the Drag box at 3x1. I have found this combo with a bit of frustrating changes, and like the fact that it is still zippy as heck, but I make virtually no smoke, and if you want smoke, turn the comp to 4x4 or 5x5, even 2x4 with smarty at SW8 is a great combo, but for about 95% of my drive it is 3x1 SW8.

I really like sw4 and 3x3. Feels good to me. . I also have the surge pretty bad when I set the cruise. Turning the smarty down just isn't as fun and if I got imbarassed by the competition I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I've got to many people that know it's a quick truck and my luck they'd find me with smarty @ 0. :{ I did try just for a joke stock setting from smarty and comp off. . does okay with the sticks alone, but feels like it's begging for fuel. I just can't imagine going back to a stock truck:p

ive got sticks, and a silver bullet, i keep my smarty on 8 and leave my drag comp set at 5x5 just turn it on when i want it. my friends dont even like to drive it with it on!

Is you turbo cleanning that smoke up or the comp? Do you need to tap the wire to run a comp on 3x1? Im running a demo smarty right now and I love it except it smokes a lot more than Id like, even if I pedal it. Ive been running on 5 mostly cause anything more than that and Im blacking out traffic.

The Ez in your sig is being stacked with Smarty? You should only run Smarty on the even numbers when stacked with EZ. Try SW#2... . see if that helps.
