Give us back the touchy throttle and smoke or you will be like the Bul--[s--t]-og programing !!! { If you have less Tq mgt that would be even better, give us ALL of the options. }

If you can make it "A killer" some of us will want it and will do what it takes to use it. Others may die and :{ , but that is the price of performance! You have a disclaimer. Use it.

The original Smarty SW...

Just download the Moderate version. It's the exact same thing. Just no timing rattle.

Thanks, but he has the Moderate version... It is still not nearly as aggressive and smokey/touchy as the very first originally loaded program when the Smarty was received...

I think those of you who received Smarty after the standard shipping software was switched to the "mild" version may not know how the very first original software was - it was KILLER! When first installed, even on the 30 or 60hp setting, you were like "WOW!!" Smoke, touchy throttle, aggressive fueling, spinning tires... even on the lower levels... very cool!

The newer software has added a LOT of refinement, control, stopped surging cruise controls, and made Auto trucks shift better, but if you ever (even once!) got to drive the original batch of Smartys for the CRs with the very first software version - you would remember it! Awesome!

Just my $. 02 ...

Gang,
Just got yet another new software version for the 06's & 07's.
Already time for another new update... ARGH!

Since I'm already working on them SW's...
I'll do two different timing versions for stock/aftermarket sticks.
I'll add version 4. ** with the "original" TM or even a little wilder.
I'll add the version with the boost fooling.

I think with that kinda offer we will make everybody happy.
I only hope that with all those different SW's availabel average Joe will not be confused about what he wants...

Gimme a couple days.

Marco

P0602 Dtc

Marco, are you doing something with the p0602 code? When this code comes up on my truck it runs like sh**, smokes and doesn't spool. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

I am a new Smarty user coming from the BD side of the fence. If you can get rid of that pesky p0602 I will be a dedicated Smarty user and sell my BD programmer...

Thanks,

Bill

Marco, thank you for all your work on this. :) Anyone know which version of timing will appear on the boost fooling sw? Nick.

i just downloaded the moderate version of TM for my smarty and am dissapointed. does the moderate version limit torq more than what the smarty originally came with or what? the truck is slower, throttle more touchy and it smokes less. so all in all i should have stayed with the original version it came with. the smarty was bought in november of '06. anyone have any ideas?

Bob/Marco,

Just a thought here. Instead of naming these files exactly what they are (ie: Smarty S-04A Ver. 3. 09B, Data: 2. 04B) Why not name them really generic, so it's easy to see what's what. Like "03-05. 5 Mild Reduced Timing" and "03-05. 5 Moderate Standard Timing". Not exactaly like that, but you get the point. That way when we go to the download page it's easy to understand what we're getting. . 02¢

Kinda makes me glad I didnt update anything on mine! Gotta love the touchy go pedal and all the smoke! Marco will get it all dialed in, he always does!

Sounds good marco, i'll be waiting for the origional smarty tm. Keep up the awsome cusomer service!

is there anything i can do to get a differant software than the one i just downloaded yesterday. it seems as if my power is limited compared to the software it came with. when i was in 6th gear before and mash it i would get a steady black haze out the exhaust and the truck would pick up fast, now the only way i can make it smoke in 5th or 6th is if i lug it and it doesent pick up quite as fast. i downloaded the moderate TM. is that the one that gives you the most torq or limits it the most?

I have been driving around for the past few days with the newest smarty update on mild and sw 5. People have been saying their is less power with the new update. It does seem to be a little slower, but it's hard to actually determine if it's power or the torque management curve level. I think their is just a little more torque management in the newer software, thus it feels a little slower because the fuel maybe doesn't come on so stong so fast. I am not complaining about this it's probably better for the truck this way in the long run. But i do miss the smoke. Anyways the transmission does shift better now, no more 1,2,1,2,3,4. And no more timing rattle at idle either. I think marco saied earlier in this thread he is coming out with a new software more like the origional tm program, i hope it's out soon!

... ** SNIP **

lack of power feeling is just off-idle for me. The higher EGT is under light throttle, lvel ground cruising on the highway.

** SNIP **

It appears after my buddy updated his Smarty to the newest version that the same experience as above -

Not so much the lack of power off idle, but definitely higher EGTs when normal driving and/or cruising...

When rolling into it to pass on the freeway, getting to 1350+ is not a problem whereas with the older software, you had to really dog the truck to see 1250... Truck still feels pretty strong, and definitely no more timing rattle now, 48-RE shifts better too...

I know not all trucks react the same, and he has intake/exhaust upgrades, but is running the 30 or 60 hp settings on top of injectors... stock turbo.

Who else is seeing a fair amount higher temps with the new release?

Suggestions?
