Well for what its worth, I got bored today and decided to play with different smarty programs. I downloaded 309d205c sw#3 w/timing (aftermarket inj. , stock turbo) and edge ez #1. I have stock injectors and stock turbo. I've been running 309d205a sw#3 w/timing since the update was released. With the 309d205c, the 48re still shifts great the motor seems to quieter, power feels the same as with it did with the other program and the smoke level is back in a big way! Oo.

Bob Wagner, Does the newest smarty program with aftermarket injectors and aftermarket turbo and STOCK torque management offer the same top end output as the old stock torque management programs?

2-3 levels better on top-end would be better :-laf

I agree with you, I would like the newer programs to have the top end hp of the old programs. I wonder what they did to the new programs to keep it from performing up top?

the older programs were o. k. but not a world better, they just need to give us high HP boys something to work with, not just low end fueling and smoke

Still can't figure it out

I got a new computer for xmas, and I thought it would be easier to figure out how to download stuff but I was wrong. I printed out the installing usb drivers guide for xp off mads, but as soon as I get to installation options on pg 2 of the guide, I type in the code for drivers and it tells me that it can't find it. I'm lost here, and I can't figure out on mads which download to use, exe or zip? What should I do first? second? I'm sorry, I don't know computer code.

smarty on sw#5

Alright guys as you can tell this is my first post i tried searching for the my problem but after reading 400 some post i figured id will just ask. .

I just purchased the smarty (wow absolutely amazing) and i have been playing around with the different odd numbers. . SW#1 and SW#3 are awesome (Smarty is still running its original program it came with) the low end fueling and the smoke are awsome too. . Now i run it on SW#3 for the past week and the other night i decided i wanted to try SW#5 (90hp with timing) and it felt like i was running an even number sw. No low end fueling and i couldnt even get a puff of smoke if i tried. I decided to pull over and go back to SW#3. WOW it was back, i could tell as soon as i started it up (little more timing rattle) and the throttle response was there agian.

What i did notice is when your uploading a new odd SW# it sounds like your lift pump will prime the engine and on the even SW# it wont. So the 2nd and 3rd time i tried SW#5 i made sure the lift pump was turning on and i was but still not the power.

Thanks i would appreciate any help

Great work Marco

Level 5 will tax the stock lift pump... . runny out of fuel pressure? or you could try downloading the latest version to ensure it's not a bad program for level 5 on your device???

I beleive there was an issue on some versions where 5 was not working correctly.

All is good

C'mon throw us dogs a bone!! Inquiring minds wish to know. WHATS NEXT!!!

By the way EVERY program I have tried will occassionaly hang the throttle on the 3/4 shift, a good blip on the the throttle will make it go away but what is going on??

Count an 03 and an 05 both that have experienced the hanging throttle syndrome... This was mentioned in another thread also...

Is this being addressed?

Almost caused the 05 to run over another car the other day in rush hour traffic...

Other than that, all grins on both 305 and 325 motors...

The only "hanging throttle" symptom I have is when the cold idle kicks in to 1000 rpm - only the first start of the day -and the rpm will not come down when I press the brake or clutch pedal in. Then if I let the truck idle for a few more minutes it will be fine again.

I can literally back down the driveway at 1000 rpm riding the brake without the idle coming down from 1000 rpm!

I can never get the truck to repeat this after the first start of the day.

Yeah im working some overtime this weekend im gonna either purchase the fass or a glacier lift pump i havent decided yet, any ideas on which one would be good for my truck i kinda like the GFS-392 by glacier? but i have to some more research... Also im having some clutch issues so looks like south bend gonna be hearing from me... . :)

The fuel pressure has been fine i just dont think its getting the fuel that it needs for 90hp. I think it just might be a bad program but im just going to keep this version until i get some needed parts, SW#3 is too much fun and i need my clutch to last me a couple more weeks. .

Shawn

yea i havent heard anything bad about them and it will defiantly keep my fuel pressure in check on those higher odd SW#s...

Any one selse seeing surging?

I am running the TST 3/1 (03 twins program), EZ on 1 and the SMARTY on 3. (never been higher yet ... lol). Stock program on the SMARTY

When I am heavy in to it on the hwy at about 130km/h. Running empty, just having fun, (not continious), passing or overtaking.

The truck surges and the boost guage jumps like 8-10psi. I looked no boost leaks and or cracked hoses.

I am only running about 40psi on the SP66.

Rail pressure guage not yet installed but on the way (thanks again BOB)

Is it a problems of all boxes on at once?

Anyone else seeing this.

If I turn the TST to 0/0 it goes away?

Well, I finally installed the aftermarket turbo and aftermarket injector program and I do not see that the top end is as good as the previous version as in the 306_502 . Is it possible to get all the goodies of the newer version with the power up top of the 306_502. The way I see it now, I have no need to ever update my smarty again untill I can get the power up top like the older program and when I say old, version 306d202b works like a charm.
