Factory updates - Horn sounds when backing

The smarty will have the latest Chrysler software loaded at time of shipment and we always stay current with the factory updates.

Does the dreaded Horn sounds when backing with door open upgrade also get updated, if I would go back to factory settings ?

Sorry this may have already been answered but I have been Reading about Smarty from almost day 1. But have been away for a while How long is the sale going to be going on.

Thanks Bill

Got my JR today,Thanks Bob super fast shipping. loaded level 3 in it and Im waiting for the wife to get home so i can try it out. :D

Would the amount of duration with settings 2 and 3 be enough to require an aftermarket LP? I have been looking at a GDP kit but haven't taken the plunge yet. I know on the 03-04. 5 the LP barely supports stock requirements so I may have just answered my own question. I don't have a FP gauge yet either so I don't know how low it actually is right now.

I have the Jr stacked with and MP-8 both on 100hp and I haven't seen any issues at all with fuel pressure either Lift or rail so you should be fine.

Anyone else notice more of a shudder when the engine shuts down? I was wondering if its from the increased timing? Otherwise I need to look for other problems.

Having the JR. loaded, I just reprogrammed a 3rd and 4th key. If i return to stock will the keys remain programmed.

ordered one today... . was waiting till I was out of warranty and I'm sitting at 32k so I figured I'd take the plunge..... looking forward to it.

Just tried the tow setting and pulled our triaxle gooseneck flatbead trailer empty gvw 13,000lbs. Hauled about 5 ton so GVW ~ 22,500lbs. Pulled as good or better than with Edge EZ. Really liked the smooth power. $ well spent. Picked up my FASS today. Can't wait to get that installed and unleash a few more ponies.

You do know your warranty is 5 years and 100,000 miles on the engine and components. 36,000 miles or 3 years is bumper to bumper.

Without going too crazy slightly modding a 5. 9L cummins is just fine. The engine will probably out last the truck even if you cut its normal life in half. The thing that you have to watch is the stock clutch. I've talked to a few guys that have changed them out with low miles and not even crazy power yet. Match rpms when downshifting, (espescially with an exhaust brake, clutch wears both ways; starting and slowing a load) and keep torque under ~700-750 ft lbs. My brother has an '01 six speed with about 300hp and 700ft lbs w/ bd brake and its pulled a lot. He has 278,000 kms on it and still original clutch.

Well my Smarty Jr. hit the mailbox today! But I have a TSB I am going to try to get worked on Monday so even though it says it won't show up I'm not taking any chances. Can't wait to try it out but I'm going to... ...

Need some advice. As you can see in my signature I have a 2005 with an intake, exhaust, and edge ez. I was wondering about getting a smarty jr. and stacking with ez. Or I was also thinking about getting a roktech sensor and a van aaken 3. 2 to stack with the ez. Does the smarty jr. change timing? Which would work with my applications?

Mike

The smarty offers dynamic timing that offers very low egts and improved economy. The lowest egts in the indusrty.

The smarty does not raise rail preesure so it stacks very nicely with a pressure type box if that is your preference.

The smarty jr offers up to 100 hp increase to the rear wheels where as the smarty sr. will be capable of 230 hp gain.

Thanks

I thought I would stack my ez just because I already have it. Does the jr. change injector pulse width? What is the best price I can get on a jr?

Mike

The Smarty Junior offers timing and fueling duration only. That is why the pressure box works so well.

cant quote prices on the TDR .

just south of 5 delivered

Won't be disapointed with the Smarty Jr. You should have lots of power with it stacked. It should drop your egts. My truck with the Jr on tow outpulls my dads truck with the EZ. It is way nicer to drive w/ the smarty. Use them together and you'd better invest in a tire manufacturer.

Seems everybody is happy with the Smarty Jr - - Including Me!

Just got back from a trip to Savannah from NE Ohio and mileage was up from 15. 2 to 18. 9 mpg average on the 2006 Dodge. Smarty was set on the lowest setting, speedometer was corrected for 295/17's and checked right on with the GPS.

Several segments put the mileage at 19. 3 mpg (all manual checked) for much of the south bound trip I was running 70 MPH with stiff quartering head winds (through KY)

Bottom line - - I want a Jr for my 2001 work truck.

Thanks to Bob Wagner and his guidance for making this upgrade possible.

Denny
