I just got done doing a mileage test that was interesting to say the least. I was up in Seattle (from Portland) all last weekend at a soccer tournament - ran it up and back in the 'fuel saver' mode, used cruise control a lot both ways - and after filling back up saw no appreciable mileage increase at all. In fact, it was roughly the same as with running it on #9 to the coast a couple of weeks ago pulling a tent trailer - and without the power/throttle response... ... ... ... .

Anyone seen any real mileage from the FS option?

Nope.

I run my truck on #7 day in and out. Much better balance for me for daily driving and power. The fuel saver mode made absolutely no difference in economy for me.

Maybe a stock truck would have different results?

Dave

I run mine on #9 and I actually got the best fuel mileage I've seen with the truck.

Doing 80mph from Mtn Home to Preston and back to Pocatello. 388 miles on 21 gallons of diesel. ~18. 5 mpg.

I have mine set on level 3 and I average one mile per gallon better. On the interstates, wind is still my biggest variable.

First trip using the fuel saver mode, a couple of weeks ago So Cal to So. Ore, I averaged just under 21 mpg (hand calculated) at 70 - 75 mph. Very pleased with results.

My results mirror those of BenHall and my truck is absolutely stock except for the Smarty. I guess there must be something to the stock thing.

Middle of the week,350 miles, half of that was pulling the traveltrailer on setting #3,other half was on #7 empty,Got 17mpg on that tank. i mostly get about 20/21 mpg empty and cruising.
