Smarty POD with Edge CTS3 Combo FYI

I didn't find the POD/Edge CTS3 control issue mentioned on the TDR forum, so I thought I would put it on here. But, maybe my searching missed it.

I recently upgraded to a CTS3 monitor and found it was not plug and play with the Smarty S-06 PoD. It actually defaults to a PoD number of -1. So when you plug it in on a programed truck its kills the power unless you have the correct gauge page selected with the power level control on the left side. You tap the power level box once and a key pad pops up letting you put it on 99 or whatever. After saving it, you will still see -1, but it runs correctly! You must use the page with the power level control even if you never change the PoD. Its number 15 on the gauge selection page.

I had to call Edge myself to figure that one out. Didn't find any posts on the subject, just old CTS2 threads.

Did another another software update tonight, my Edge CTS3 now controls the smarty POD feature perfectly. I was waiting in a parking lot getting bored and tried out the wifi update feature. It now will change the POD setting using the up and down "buttons" and it looks so much better than -1 showing all the time. I updated it a week ago via USB and thought that would be the latest software, but no, that would be too easy. I updated it two more times this week and tonight I noticed it changed the -1 to 99. Third update since new was the winner. Oh well, I wish it had worked right from day one! At least as good as the CTS2. Everything else has been great, love the crisp and clear screen. I'm thinking about adding the back up camera someday.

I just installed my CTS3 on my 05 Dodge. I also have the Smarty 06 tuner. My throttle response went to almost nothing. I had it pushed to the floor and it would barely get to 1500rpm. I reloaded my tunes and got my throttle response back. Any ideas on what happened?

With a Smarty tune you have to use the page with the throttle control otherwise it limits the throttle to the lowest setting. Its the gauge layout with the left side box with down and up arrows, it shows the power level. Leave it on 99 foe full throttle response.
