Today I did an expirament, I set my SMARTY speed limiter to 70MPH and used my cruise control to hold the go pedal to the floor and I've never felt my truck cruise sooooo smooooth EVER!:D

Try it, you won't believe how well it works.

I nevered tried that, although I was thinking about trying it. I did try a WOT run with the limiter set to 50 MPH. I learned I had better keep both hands on the wheel if wanted to continue being so foolish. The speed limiter is very accurate and I thought for a moment that I might be wearing the steering wheel in my grin.

I had my SMARTY on SW1 as I always do when cruising on the highway without a trailer. I found it best to ease up to about 65 MPH and set cruise, then use the accel control to bring it up to 70. It was kind of cool to feel the pedal slowly get pulled to the floor while nothing happened:-laf

On flats I had a constant 5lbs of boost and ~550EGT'S:D:D

I would have to work reaalllllly hard to be able to be that accurate with my foot and for sure regular cruise control varies more than that.

It''' be interesting to see how it works on SW3 with a trailer.

Cheers, JC

I've had my trailer hooked up to the truck with the Smarty on #3. I had the trailer with a Polaris Ranger on it, and the truck pulled great. I didn't go for mileage, as I was having too much fun making some smoke every now and then.

A couple of weeks ago my brothers' 06 Mega Cab went to the shop and it wasn't ready for the guys trip to Glamis. My brother asked me to tow his 30ft triple axle Weekend Warrior full of quads and fuel, well I was hesitant to tow that much. So I put my Smarty on SW3 and it towed it with no problem. Boy was I surprised. :D

i just looked at my manual and could find no mention of "cruise Control"Could someone enlighten me?

The SMARTY doesn't have a "cruise control", it does have a "speed limiter". What I have tried is to use the "speed limiter" as a cruise control. The way i did this was to set the speed limiter at 70MPH and use my cruise control to hold the throttle to the floor and let the speed limiter control speed.

I found it to be the smoothest speed control ever on my truck, it held that speed perfectly without ever surging or letting of even in rolling hills.

To top it all off I hand calculated the milage of that tank and was up 1. 5MPG over what I "usually" get. I realize 1 tank isn't enough data to verify these findings but I will be doing more testing.

THe only down side I;ve found with this idea is if you need to accelerate to get out of a problem, well you CAN'T:eek:

Just a quick update, I have been using this feature since I first posted my findings and it does work. My last trip I got just a hair over 20MPG on the highway at 70MPH.

387 miles
19. 3 gallons
