Maybe this has been covered...

but could Marco make it so that we can adjust the temp where high idle and the 3cyl high idle kick in. My truck goes to high idle when it's been sitting for a long time (like more then 12hours) and the temps are well below freezing. It's only gone to 3cyl a few times, usually after sitting for a long long time and temps being in the teens. I'd like to see 3cyl at anything below say 25deg and high idle below like 40deg. Any talk of this and would it be possible?

Here's a dreaded "me too" post.

If we could adjust the two temp points, kind of like the ABS setting, that would be ideal.

I'll never see the high idle where I live, but I'd like to have the truck warm up in a couple of minutes in the driveway without plugging in.

Of course, this assumes that these temperature values are in an area of the ECM available to Marco...

I'm just glad my high idle works now :D

After 3 trips to the dealer to get it turned on it never worked, and then this morning I went to get something out of the garage and when I came back out is was ramping up Oo. Oo. thanks again Marco.

Now I'm gonna have to beef up the transmission to deal with all of this new fun, if I'm not careful I'm gonna bake my lock-up clutch in the converter

It's hard to believe all that performance was napping inside my nearly stock truck, all I can say is WOW!!!

Marco, I know I've said it before but it just can't be said enough, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Yes Marco! thanks for the high idle, my truck was left out last night and it worked this am. I have still not heard the three cylinder deal but am sure I will. I had asked my dealer to install these functions, he had wanted $70. 00 so it was never done.

70 BUCKS!?! WOW!

What about a black market for the high idle? :-laf

Wanna test my Smarty? It'll enable your High Idle... . 35 bucks... :D :D :-laf :)

Marco

I should be receiving my Smarty in the mail today. I asked about stacking my DDTTPM with the Smarty #8 and someone said this is the same as the Smarty #9. I just wanted to confirm that this is true? If so, I will have to talk my dad into trading my box for his Comp box. His truck has injectors and he rarely runs it higher than level 1 anyway. I can't wait for the mail to get here today so I can test it out.

If I remember correctly, the #8 and #9 are the same "level". But, #8 does not add additional timing. #9 does. So, #8 would be for your DDTTPM or a DDUFM or any equivelent Edge product (Comnp and EZ).

#9 adds timing for fueling only boxes. basically, the Smarty is gonna work with what you have got or may change to.

so how about it Marco??? any chance of getting some temp adjustability for when high idle/3cyl high idle kicks in?

Your the ECM man... what ya think?

Thanks,

Chris

PS I've got a Smarty on the way :D

Went out the other morning at Whistlin Jack Resort (Temp around zero) and started the truck. Bank Exhaust brake came on, truck increased to 1200 RPM after a minute and then went into 3 cyclinder idle and almost died. High idle went back to normal and I ran over and turned off the exhaust brake. It idled up again after a minute and went into 3 cyclinder idle. Would be nice to have high idle without 3 cyclinder for those really cold mornings. SNOKING

Well, guess what came today?

Comments same as others. Put in #9, standing start and NO TIME TO CHECK GAUGES before you hit 60 mph. Stopped, light changes, WOT, check the road, check the speedo (40 and climbing), start to check the EGT boost etc and you notice your are going through 65 mph, time to get off the pedal :(

Biggest thing I notice is there is low end to spool my KSB1 FINALLY something works to get that big ol honker to get up to speed. Cruising at 5#, punch it, now at 20# and spooled!

I loaded in fuel saver to play with on the way to work tommorrow (the road conditions where I KNOW exactely what mpg it has been under what conditions).

I can see a standard upgrade pkg of:

Smarty,

sticks,

turbo

My opinion is no need for a box any longer,

Just sticks, air to cool it, and Smarty to get the fuel curves without jerking the VP44 around.

Bob Weis

EDIT 01/22 Fuel Saver

I am running the entire full tank on fuel saver. Preliminary observations from a well known stretch of highway, 1375 rpm (51 mph) use to show 29 - 31 mpg on the overhead, now shows 31 - 33 mpg. I know the overhead is not correct only relative to past readings. Will hand calculate in 400 miles ~ 1 1/2 weeks and edit this edit.

Can hardly wait Bob for my Mach 4's and my Smarty Oo. Oo. Oo. ,maybe one of the few that has it up here, who knows.

I had stayed away from down loaders in the past but this one sounds interesting. I see pre orders are being taken for 3rd gens.

The FAQ section sounds all good but can we get more specific data for each of the settings?

Like: #3 is X timing, X pressure and X duration. Just something about knowing what I am programming in other than a menu number and, a higher number is just more power.

Bob,got it today and went right for the #9. Not to bad !! It sure downloads a lot quicker than the BD on the 05!!I'm going to try the tire size tommorow and see if I can get the speedo in back inline after puttin on the 315's

Yea Marco how about programing the Smarty to auto start my truck at 6:32 PM, turn my radio on to 92. 1 FM, auto adjust my seat, and if 52 drops of water hits my windshield auto turn on the wipers... ... :-laf :-laf

Come on guys give Maro a break... . He has a good product here and has worked hard trying to make and supply 10 different programs for 2 Generations of trucks.

My wifes Buick Rainier does most of that, depending on which one of the two key fobs you are using. Radio, climate, seats, minors, performance... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....

Yeah that's along the same lines as what i was asking.

Edit to add: I don't think I or anyone else said or even implied that it wasn't a good product. He can answer yes, no, or maybe so... or he can choose to not answer it at all. I don't see it as an unreasonable question though...

I wonder if all 2nd generation pre-orders are now filled - and what the status is now of more current orders? Any target date for the next shipment yet?

OH, and will there be any late production programming revision updates added to the next bunch to cover some of the minor random issues that surfaced in the first bunch, or will that be a user download?

I have a 300 mile trip to take in a few weeks, and sure would love to try the Smarty on the way! Oo. :D
