Intake Manifold Tests Complete

What is the future of Smarty?

Put me in the smoking section but I will take a stock sw with tire adjustment as an appetizer... ... ..... :D
I ended up having the dealer update my ABS to the current tire size. Needed to give them the number of tire revolutions per mile. Think we went with 628 with my 285/75 tires (need to double check that) and now the speedo is right on with or without smarty software. Was worth it.

After reading these posts for all these months it seems we have the non-smoking section and the smoking section. :)
Very true. . its easy to make power with smoke, more of a challenge to make cleaner power. Hoping for mileage gains out of it too. .

Glad to here something is getting done with our concerns. I was offered to trade my Smarty for a Superchips programmer and a bit of cash... I was seriously considering it.

Already bought the programmer. . I thought we were talking about some software upgrades for it, not buying a NEW programmer again.

It sounded to me like the jr one would only do a subset of the Smarty for those that only wanted a less robust version at a less $$$.

Two seperate issues, this is about software upgrades (Bob's original intent with this thread)... but someone also brought up the Smarty jr..... a new product from mads that is a simpler / cheaper version of the smarty... . no one is trying to sell you another smarty for more $'s... .

Now how about that top speed eliminator for 4. 4? :)

JG

I sorta figured that out also back around post #39. . . If it is a separate product it probably should be discussed in a separate thread. Carry on gentlemen. .

Just curious if there is any estimated time frame when there may be some of the milder (lower smoke / similar to stock) SW's or betas coming out for the "Standard" smarty? Thanks.

Phil, I have stated in other threads my truck would be used when marco makes the trip to the states in Sept or early October

Maybe we will do some testing before then

All I want is the abs tire size changing stuff on the stock sw, o

If you want the abs tire size to remain the same when you return the vehicle to stock, just remove the speedo fuse (#36, or is it #26??, I can't remember and I don't have my truck here right now) when downloading the stock program. Just hook up the fuse after the download, and your truck will remain on what ever tire setting you had it on before returning to stock.

Carl

On Edit: I just noticed you have a 2001. 5 truck. I'm not sure if my advice applies to your truck, but it may be worth a try

Good info, certainly worth a try! Thanks! :):)

I don`t know about the rest of your trucks, but I have had mine over 120mph with no rev limiter kicking in,`02 HRVp-44 drag comp. I ran out of room, before I ran out of speed.

I don't think the '02's have a rev limiter, guys here on TDR have commented on getting up to about 130 mph before the VP-44 starts defueling and limits further speed...

I have had my 02 to 120ish with just the drag comp alone and had to back out of it and still had a lot of throttle left. The guy riding with me didn't believe I had throttle left until I floored it at around 115 and it still had enough to set us deeper in our seats he then said I am a believer now slow down:eek:.

YUP - I've done much the same with mine - if mine has a speed limiter, it's somewhere up above 120 MPH!:eek:

Surrrre would be nice to have a beta SW to try out thats same as stock with only 50% added timing with ABS & 3cyl idle enabled. . Also one the same with no added timing for the timing box guys (and gals). . "wink" "wink" "nudge" "nudge" :p;):D:{;);)
