What is the future of Smarty?

hey Bob this is adam ross again. hey any new news on the RPM programming? i really cant wait, to excited, like a little boy day before christmas

Is it just me or does the jumpy throttle bother anyone else? I have read a lot about the 'ol Smarty, and have recently bought an '02. While I am impressed w/ what the smarty does. I am not that impressed w/ the way it does it.

Sorry to the mods if this does not go here. Delete it if you want. It was just a question.

I don't have any problem with the touchy throttle. It took some getting used to at first but now it's not a problem. It's annoying w/ the cruise on interstate, that's why I just turn it down on road trips. I think the throttle response could be no worse than my wifes 03 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, pretty close comparison, IMO.

If BAD back roads, especially washboards, throttle too jumpy, have to slow to idle speed to control eng..... My experience

Ah, you should try one in the snow, or on icy roads...:-laf

It's pretty amazing how much downside some owners will rationalize or put up with as acceptable - especially when there ARE potential programs that probably will moderate those weaknesses while still delivering the vast majority of desired benefits... ;):D

I hope there are different versions or options because I like the way the throttle is and what not. I liked the Idea about being able to individually pick the 9 programs to have if that is possible.

wish the JR was out when I bought my Smarty. I loaded only #1 and it was been there ever since. See no reason to load #9 as I'm sure I destroy something being a stock truck.

At this point, me too. However, I think you could go SW5 on my stock G56 if you keep your foot out. If I was buying a new Smarty, I'd buy the Jr. if it went to SW5 on a G56. I'd probably buy the Jr. either way, as long as the smoke problem was cured.

Billy it may be possible but the CR Speed limiter is gone when Marco decides to release the software.

Guess whats next? :-laf

Yippee....NO CR speed limiter....wait....hold on....

Ok like me, hate me... . whatever. Its time to say what many are thinking but still dance around. Almost a month ago this thread started with some illusion of a change to the Smarty for our beloved VP trucks and after many posts we are left with the CR having its speed limiter removed..... whoa ... wait... . not so fast... . yeah thats IF Marco decides to release the software. I have the product in my truck, I havent complained, Ive read the posts about some attention being paid to our model and was even advised about updates coming soon a year ago when I purchased it. I am still using it, have no plans to sell it and use something else. Is there some method to the madness of a Smarty wishlist that apparently falls on deaf ears (or eyes) or the posts on here baiting us that something lies ahead for our Smarty's we have all already purchased. How long should we expect to hear about certain changes before we can expect to actually have a change? I dont think this is an unreasonable request. I would stop getting my hopes up when I read the Smarty posts and think there is going to be something meaty to it and it turns out to once again be some frosting on a cake that has yet to bake.

Thanks for the update... ... . sincerely 1 perfectly happy but seriously disillusioned Smarty owner

One more thing....

I forgot to mention, while I fully understand these update's are FREE of charge to existing Smarty owners and engineering time costs alot of money. I do not think that I am alone in feeling that if the update cost was reasonable but was available in a timely manner many would consider it. I dont want people to start in with bashing because I expect too much out of a free update. Thats not it at all. I would like AN update (free or otherwise) to actually be an update and not another random post about something that may happen if the moon sun and stars all align at the same time on Marco's wifes mothers 2nd husbands daughter's wedding day. I do not expect anything for free, even if it was explained that the product works this way when we all purchased them. Hey Microsoft has made zillions with that same line.

Can you imagine the special program they have with my name on it after these two posts... ..... :-laf
