Then why are other companies still working at developing the second gen products like the Quad adrenaline and then Edge just came out with a newer version comp for the 24v's? I am sure there are others too.

Y'all can sell your smarty. I'll keep mine. My computer got messed up (thanks to hypertech) day before christmas. I email Bob and he sent me a recover program for my smarty. I put it in the truck and still got to my christmas party!!! No dealer is open on holidays and I don't know if they could have helped. Thanks Bob!!

That is awesome that he could help you out like that. My brothers 98. 5 truck had a ecm go bad in September. TDR member Csnyder sold me a ecm to get the truck back on the road. I emailed Bob Wagner & emailed mads electronics asking them to fix the ecm, but got no replies back. I'm not sure if it is bad or just needs a flash. I've also sent pm's on here & on DTR asking Bob if it can be fixed with no replies back. I sent Bob a forth email asking him about the new software making my truck stumble at idle, in this email I asked if he could fix/help me fix the ecm. I finally got a reply back saying "Here is the old Smarty software Jamie", but nothing about my ecm. I bought 2 Smarty's from Bob by the way.

Bob has MANY times displayed the "2nd mile" concept of customer service - but as far as Smarty is concerned, his ability is pretty much limited to what support he himself can get from Marco.



And yeah, I too find it to be usually hard to get replies to Email from Bob - he is undoubtedly a pretty busy guy, with lots of other issues to maintain besides what Smarty exposes him to. Naturally, his phone line IS available for those more important issues needing more rapid response...

I agree 100% that Bob has gone the extra mile for us in the past & I personally have not had a problem with Bob. I've asked in posts many times "who can I get to fix my ecm?" Replies back were "contact Bob Wagner". I never called Bob, but figured that if he read the email to see that I was having problems with a software, I think he is well aware that I have ecm problems. It was all written in the same email. I haven't posted one bad thing about Bobs character, just wondering why I seem to be on his ignore list.

This software release fixes the missing shift indicator lights in the 2003 AT trucks that was caused

with the Dec. 5 release.

Important: If you do not own a -2003 Automatic Transmission truck-, you do not need to update

your Smarty! Nothing has changed for you.



Dec. 5, 2007 - Software updates

· Smarty S04 and Smarty S06

Totally revised softwares!

With the eleventh software version the long awaited "low smoke" software version becomes

finally available to you. ONE YEAR of R&D...

These are the softwares that have been mass tested as the " beta 4. x ".

Greatly reduced smoke. Greatly reduced EGT's. Better Mileage with the same power as the

previous software versions.

In short what has changed:

Revised injection timing, revised fuel injection duration tables, revised boost tables.

Revised low end torque management. 95% of these softwares is revised /new.

NONE of these softwares add any rail pressure above the factory stock settings.

What started out to be an informational upbeat thread turned into another 2nd generation cuss and gripe session - and well deserved at that!



Bob has been evident in posting regularly on other boards and threads, as well as on this board - but obviously avoids THIS thread like the plague - at least as far as posting is concerned.

I had already lost faith and respect for Marco over the inaction evident towards 2nd generation Smarty owners - and after an unfortunate incident this past weekend, have now also lost all faith and respect for Bob W. as well (I prefer to not publicly detail/air dirty laundry if I can avoid it!).



Neither of those 2 will ever see any business or referrals from me again! Too many other promising and established alternative products and retailers available to lose sleep over what MADS and W&A has to offer, and ANYTHING they might come up with tomorrow, next month or next year is too little, WAY too late!



I have unloaded the Smarty programming from my truck, returning it to stock and returned to using the Edge Comp only, and placed my Smarty up for sale in the TDR classifieds - nicely packaged with what there is of the latest software upgrade, and with all documentation and cable in a nice padded and zippered case - see classifieds for details - and SO LONG SMARTY!
