I read here once that using 50 HP nozzles would be like a stock tip when setting up the download from the Smarty. Before the REVO we had the chose of aftermarket injectors or no. So what is you opinion, should I use stock timing? I just downloaded the REVO and will play with it shortly but while reading the REVO instruction manual I am a bit confused of what I should choose. I also have the TST R49... do their timing tables work the same as the Smarty, somehow I think there is more sophistication in the Smarty tables. It was suggested I use no timing in the Smarty and use 12 degrees AUTO in the TST. I find when I do the latter that as I just touch the throttle, from a stop, using SW 9 and WILD TQ, I get rather heavy rattle but it goes away immediately... I don't think it is harmful but I am not sure.

Rail Pressure! I hear all kinds of warnings on this issue. Probably if I were a racer it wouldn't matter so much but I am looing for longevity as I use it commericially to make a living. If there is a safe limit of an increase then how much? I did notice the warnings with the new REVO. How much increase does the Smarty or the TST provide?

I created a thread asking about rail pressure not long ago but never got a one response, perhaps I wasn't clear with my question.

I believe the max rail pressure for my 5. 9L is 23,000 psi and I do see this now and again, I think at high rpm after I let off the pedal from WOT. But when I monitor it with the TST is looks rather wild. I am not sure I can pin point its reactions to the throttle to anticipate what it should be doing. It varies quite a bit and rapidly but not like anything might be wrong... maybe!

We're at 387,000 miles and still working hard, no oil useage, no leaks, knock on wood, even the engine compartment is very clean! It's a Dodge and it's a Cummins, that's why!
