Hey! It works! Thanks, Illflem. Where do you store all those different smileys so they are available when you want them?

The way I store them is to copy the webpage onto my desktop then drag the new file down to the tool bar launcher so I can copy and paste without leaving the page I'm on. #ad
If you see a smiley or any other graphic you like on this site you can click the edit icon on any post to see how they did it or copy.

Illflem, I can copy from the other web site, but too ignorant to understand how to copy the web page, and get it to the toolbar. Can you please explain?

Thanks! #ad

This is for Internet Explorer,I don't know the other browsers. While you are on the other website page you like click File in the LH corner, then click Save As,a small screen will pop up asking where you want to save it and name it. I save it to my desktop and leave the name the same, click save and it will copy the page to your desktop, you will have two new files on the desktop, one with the e explorer symbol and a file with the name you selected from save as. Drag the e symbol file down to the bottom of the page to the tool bar launcher and leave it,it will be labeled shortcut to whatever name you choose The e file you drug and the other new file will still be on the desktop,I have another file on the desktop I use to drag these sort of things to,keeps the clutter down. Now when you click that icon in the launcher the page will pop up with the smiles without disturbing the internet page you are on,pick the smile you want, right click for copy, close the smile page then paste the smile where you want it.
I'm new to this also,so there may be a better way,if anyone knows I'd like to learn it too. #ad

Since reading Bills #ad
first post and getting the web sight I saved it to my favorites. then after want to post I click on File and then new and open a new page and minimize it with the smiles then I can copy and do this. #ad

Drawson, that's an easy way to do it,but it's sort of a slow loading website for me. When you make the web page into a file it pops up instantly. #ad

As a supplement to the techniques on this page, I would like to point out one more. When I use the method stated by illflem, it always opens in one of the browser windows I already have open. To avoid this, here is the best technique I can find. It takes a little bit of work, but you only have to do it once. Saving the file to your own hard drive makes loading the page a snap for those of us on slow connections. The rest of this is based on using the default name and storing it on the desktop. It also assumes Windows 98 or Windows NT or Windows 95 with the desktop update of IE 4. 01 SP1 and of course Internet Explorer.

1. Do as previously stated to save the file to the desktop, or anywhere you like.
2. Navigate to where the Internet Explorer executable is located. Typically this is "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE. EXE"
3. Right click it, hit send to desktop [create shortcut]
4. Go to the shortcut you just created on the desktop, right click it. At the end of the "Target:" line, add a space and paste "c:\windows\desktop\Crack's Smilies - cwm =).htm" The quotes are acceptable, but not essential.
5. In Internet Explorer, go to menu item, Favorites, Organize Favorites... When this window pops up, drag the aforementioned shortcut into your favorites.
6. Right click this new item in your favorites and hit properties. In this window, there will be a "Run:" listbox. You may change this to whatever window style you desire.
7. Hit Apply, OK, and then Close on the Organize Favorites window.

If you follow these steps, when you click on the item you just added to your favorites, a new window will open in the window style that you configured in step 6 displaying all of those smileys #ad

OR, if you aren't feeling into this many steps, perform step 1 and then:
1. Right click anywhere on the desktop. Go New, shortcut. This will cause a "Create Shortcut" window. In the command line copy the following line and paste it into the "Create Shortcut" window. That is from the first quote to the fourth quote.
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE. EXE" "c:\windows\desktop\Crack's Smilies - cwm =).htm"
2. Hit next.
3. Give a name, maybe something like Smileys, or go with the default and then click finish.

Then proceed at step 5. Guess I only saved one step, but this was probably easier #ad
provided all the other steps were followed to the T.

These command line arguments also appear to work with Netscape, but I am unable to add the shortcut to my favorites in Netscape.

As always, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Hope this works for someone, besides me that is. #ad
Feel free to modify or skips any steps depending on your desired shortcut location.

P. S. You may want to print these instructions if this method interests you, it gets hard to follow with all of the modal windows popping up at you.

Here you go Found this on the fellow who created the smiley pages website,it is a program to download that gives you a smiley box that you can load with your favorite smiles and one touch post them.
